Due to unplayable field conditions due to storms throughout the day in Easton on Friday, the Lafayette women’s soccer season opener against Saint Joseph’s has been canceled.

The Lafayette women's soccer program has produced a number of firsts over the last couple seasons. The 2015 team earned the team's first winning record since 2011, finishing with an 8-7-1 overall mark. Last fall, the Leopards pulled off the program's first-ever Patriot League Tournament victory as Joanna Scotti '17 found the back of the net in overtime to beat Lehigh in the quarterfinal round.

Joanna Scotti's game-winning goal in double overtime to help Lafayette defeat Lehigh in the Patriot League women's soccer tournament quarterfinals is one of 16 plays in the Patriot League Top Plays of the Year Challenge. After 109 minutes of scoreless soccer in Bethlehem, Scotti got her head on a corner service from Kaelin King and found the back of the net to send Lafayette to the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament.

Weiss Earns U.S. Spot for 2017 Maccabiah Games
