The Lafayette women’s soccer team secured a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes of play Saturday afternoon against Holy Cross in Worcester. The hosts jumped out to 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute, but Lafayette’s Krista Kissell answered late in the 2nd half to force overtime. Neither side could break through in two periods of free soccer, ending the match in a draw.

General News. Lafayette Director of Athletics Bruce McCutcheon Announces Retirement

Bruce McCutcheon, who has served as Lafayette College’s director of athletics since 2001, has announced his plans to retire, ending a nearly three-decade association with the Leopards’ athletic program. A national search will begin immediately and McCutcheon has agreed to remain in his role until his replacement is hired.

Matching up against the seventh-ranked scoring offense in the nation, the Lafayette men’s soccer team put together an excellent defensive performance on Wednesday evening at Mike Bourger ’44 Field at Oaks Stadium. The Leopards shut out Albany through the first 90 minutes before surrendering the deciding tally in the fifth minute of overtime.

Lafayette is still seeking its first win of the 2017 campaign, hosting Albany this evening at Oaks Stadium. The Leopards are coming off a strong effort against La Salle on Monday evening, trimming a late lead to just one on a Christian Moyse goal in the 86th minute. The Leopards couldn't find the equalizer in the closing minutes, though, in the 2-1 road loss.
