Poore, Demaree Highlight Hopkins Performance at Widener Invitational

The Blue Jays closed out competition at the Widener Invitational Saturday. Jesse Poore finished second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.34 and Marshall Demaree earned second place in the steeplechase with a time of 9:44.27.



JHU Shines in 5,000 Meters at Widener Invitational

The Blue Jays dominated the 5,000 meter run in the first day of the Widener Invitational, with five Johns Hopkins runners posting personal records in the event. A trio of Blue Jays traveled to Princeton, NJ, to compete in the Larry Ellis Invitational.

The Johns Hopkins men's track & field team finished second in a field of 11 DIII and DII teams at the Hopkins Invitational Friday with a total of 115 points.

Bartnett Finishes Fourth in Decathlon at Mt. SAC Relays

Johns Hopkins senior Andrew Bartnett finished fourth in the decathlon at the Mt. SAC Relays/CA Invitational Thursday with a point total of 6625. Sophomore Grant Mosser also competed in the event, finishing 10th with a personal record 5918 points. The two competed in the 110 meter hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1,500 meter run to close out competition Thursday.

Blue Jays Set to Host Hopkins Invitational Friday

The Johns Hopkins men’s and women’s track & field teams are set to host the Hopkins Invitational Friday at the Eastern Campus of Johns Hopkins University. Events will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the final event slated for 5:50 p.m.

Johns Hopkins senior Andrew Bartnett and sophomore Grant Mosser traveled to California to compete in the 2017 Mt. SAC Relays/CA Invitational. The two began decathlon competition Wednesday, participating in the 100 meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump and 400 meter dash on the day.

Murray Highlights Blue Jay Performances at Mason Spring Invitational

Johns Hopkins freshman PJ Murray finished seventh in the 5,000 meters at the Mason Spring Invitational Saturday with a time of 14:55.98. Murray’s time ranks 30th in the nation among Division III athletes this season and is just 3.99 seconds off the Hopkins freshman record.

The Johns Hopkins track & field teams closed out their first outdoor competition of the year at the Colonial Relays Saturday in Williamsburg, VA. Andrew Bartnett won the pole vault championship and Zach Jacobson posted a personal record in the discus, while the 4x200 meter relay team recorded a school record time of 1:29.04.

Hopkins Opens Competition at Colonial Relays

Freshman PJ Murray posted a time of 8:35.56 in the 3,000 meter run at the Colonial Relays Thursday, setting the Hopkins freshman record. In the 10,000 meters, sophomore Ollie Hickson led JHU with a time of 31:27.08.



Blue Jays Selected First in Centennial Poll

The Johns Hopkins men’s outdoor track and field team has been selected first in the Centennial Conference preseason poll. The Blue Jays received 64 points, along with eight first-place votes, in the poll of the conference’s coaches.



Bartnett Earns Silver in Heptathlon at NCAA Championships

Bartnett dominated the second day at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, posting two personal bests as he racked up a Centennial Conference record 5238 points for the silver medal in the heptathlon. The senior gathered 2606 points on the second day, including 972 points in the pole vault.

Bartnett Wins Bronze in Pole Vault at NCAA Championships

Johns Hopkins senior Andrew Bartnett kicked off the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships with a bang, participating in five events on the first day. Bartnett earned All-American indoor honors for the third time in his career as he placed third in the pole vault. Bartnett also began competition for the heptathlon with the 60 meter dash, long jump, shot put and high jump.
