Orgielewicz, Reynolds Earn D3Baseball All-America Honors

A pair of Blue Jay seniors, catcher Ryan Orgielewicz and shortstop Conor Reynolds, were named to the D3Baseball All-America Second Team, it was announced Thursday. Each Johns Hopkins player picked up a Regional Player of the Year award earlier in the week, with Reynolds earning the honor from D3Baseball.



Orgielewicz Named ABCA Regional Position Player of the Year

Catcher Ryan Orgielewicz was named the 2017 ABCA/Rawlings Mid-Atlantic Regional Position Player of the Year for his phenomenal senior season, it was announced Tuesday. Three other Blue Jays picked up All-Region honors as senior shortstop Conor Reynolds was selected to the Second Team and junior third baseman Mike Smith and sophomore pitcher Josh Hejka earned Third Team honors.



Reynolds Named D3Baseball Regional Player of the Year

Senior shortstop Conor Reynolds was named the 2017 D3Baseball Mid-Atlantic Regional Player of the Year, it was announced Tuesday. Senior catcher Ryan Orgielewicz joined Reynolds on the All-Region First Team, while junior third baseman Mike Smith and sophomore relief pitcher Josh Hejka landed on the Second Team. Head coach Bob Babb was also honored as the D3Baseball Mid-Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year.



Hopkins Concludes Season with 4-2 Loss to Shenandoah

The fourth-ranked and first-seeded Johns Hopkins baseball team concluded its season with a 4-2 loss to second-seeded Shenandoah in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Sunday at PeoplesBank Park in York, PA. The Blue Jays finish the season with a 38-8 record, the ninth-best winning percentage in program history. Senior Ryan Orgielewicz homered in the Hopkins loss, his 13th home run of the season, tied for the fifth-most by a Blue Jay in a single season.



Hopkins Falls to Wheaton, 6-1, Snaps 21-Game Win Streak

The fourth-ranked and first-seeded Johns Hopkins baseball team suffered its first loss in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional as it fell to third-seeded Wheaton (MA), 6-1, Saturday at PeoplesBank Park in York, PA. The loss concludes the Blue Jays’ 21 game winning streak and is just the second time that JHU has been held to a single run this season. Hopkins will take on the winner of second-seeded Shenandoah and fifth-seeded Alvernia Sunday at 12 p.m.

In its first night game of the season, the fourth-ranked and top-seeded Johns Hopkins baseball team came back from a five-run deficit to defeat fifth-seeded Alvernia, 13-9, Friday in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at PeoplesBank Park in York, PA. The Blue Jays scored six runs in the ninth inning, and senior Cameron Mineo struck out five and did not allow a hit in the final 2.2 innings to secure the Hopkins win. Ryan Orgielewicz hit two home runs in the victory. The Blue Jays will take on the winner of second-seeded Shenandoah and third-seeded Wheaton (MA) Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

Seven Blue Jays Named All-Centennial

Senior shortstop Conor Reynolds was named the 2017 Centennial Player of the Year for his stellar senior campaign for the fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins baseball team. Six other Blue Jays were also honored by the Centennial Conference as pitchers Alex Ross and Josh Hejka, catcher Ryan Orgielewicz and third baseman Mike Smith were named to the First Team, outfielder Brian Lin landed on the Second Team and pitcher Nick Bodner earned All-Centennial honorable mention. Hopkins now has 82 all-time First Team selections, the most of any team in the conference. Head coach Bob Babb was named the Centennial Conference Coach of the Year for the Blue Jays’ 17-1 season against conference opponents.



Hopkins Walks Off to Win 14th Centennial Conference Crown

The fifth-ranked Johns Hopkins baseball team won its 10th Centennial Conference title as freshman Mike Eberle hit a walk-off RBI single to drive in senior Tommy Mee for the winning run over third-seeded Ursinus. The Blue Jays topped the Bears, 4-3, giving up all three UC runs in the fifth inning. Senior Ryan Orgielewicz was named the Centennial Conference Tournament MVP for his performance in JHU's 3-0 performance in the championships.

The sixth-ranked Johns Hopkins baseball team scored nine unanswered runs to defeat 18th-ranked Randolph-Macon Monday, 9-3, at Babb Field at Stromberg Stadium. Seniors Ryan Orgielewicz and Conor Reynolds hit home runs in the Blue Jays’ sixth win over an ABCA top-30 team this season. Hopkins closed out the regular season with a 33-6 record.
