The field featured student-athletes from 12 schools including host Wake Forest, Davidson, Duke, East Carolina, Elon, Georgia, Liberty, Louisville, Navy, Richmond, Western Carolina and Winthrop. Five of WCU's seven individuals who competed picked up at least one singles victory with freshman Madison Riley leading the way with a pair of wins.

The Catamounts had three individuals advance to the semifinal round of their individual flights at the USC Upstate Fall Classic while a pair of doubles team found success as well.

The Catamounts captured two of the eight individual titles and two of the four doubles flights. Freshman Jordan Strickland won the Purple 5 flight while sophomore Gaby Hurt took the Purple 7 flight. Both finished with 2-1 records in singles action.

This marks the first fall tennis event hosted by the WCU women's tennis program.

The major highlight of the fall is the WNC Mountain Challenge hosted by WCU Sept. 10-11 at the Catamount Athletic Complex.
