Strickland and Deehr Lead Catamounts at Mountain Challenge

Sophomore Jordan Strickland and freshman Carli Deehr led the Western Carolina women’s tennis team this weekend at the annual WNC Mountain Challenge hosted by UNC Asheville as they went a perfect 2-0 in doubles play with wins over duos from USC Upstate and Kennesaw State.

Catamount Tennis Wins Two Flights at WCU Invitational

The Western Carolina women's tennis team opened its 2017 fall season this past weekend by hosting the WCU Invitational. The Catamounts captured an individual title and a doubles flight over the weekend. Sophomore Lauren McCall won the Purple 4 flight while freshmen Carli Deehr and Jordyn King teamed up to win the Paws 3 doubles flight in their first action as collegiate tennis student-athletes.

WCU Women’s Tennis Set to Host WCU Invitational

Western Carolina women’s tennis is scheduled to open the fall portion of its 2017-18 schedule Saturday and Sunday at home by hosting the WCU Invitational Sept. 16-17 at the Catamount Athletic Complex. This marks just the second fall tennis event hosted by the WCU women’s tennis program.

Western Carolina women’s tennis head coach Michaela Kissell-Eddins today released her squad’s 2017 fall schedule, featuring four tournaments, along with the 2018 spring schedule. The major highlight of the fall is the WCU Invitational hosted by the Catamounts Sept. 16-17 at the Catamount Athletic Complex.

WCU Women’s Tennis Earns Scholar Athlete Honors from ITA

For a second-consecutive year, Western Carolina had six women’s tennis players named Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Collectively, the squad received the organization’s All-Academic Team Award for 2016-17, earning recognition for a fourth-straight year and the eighth-time overall since 2003.
