WCU Women’s Tennis, Kissell-Eddins Ink Two in Early Period

Western Carolina women’s tennis head coach Michaela Kissell-Eddins announced the signing of Jacy Smith and Julia Pezzuco for the 2018-19 incoming class. Smith and Pezzuco inked their National Letters of Intent with Western Carolina University Wednesday morning.

Catamounts Win Two Flights at Wofford Invite

The Western Carolina tennis team closed out the fall portion of its 2017-18 season this weekend as the Catamounts competed at the Wofford Invite. Freshman Carli Deehr led the singles action for WCU as she won her flight including taking a pair of third set tiebreakers on the way to the title. Sophomore Jordan Strickland and junior Alexa Webb teamed up in doubles to bring home a title for the Catamounts as well.

Catamount Tennis Excels at Wake Forest Invitational

The Western Carolina tennis team travelled to Winston-Salem, N.C., this past weekend to compete in the Wake Forest Invitational against some very strong competition. Freshman Jordyn King and junior Alexa Webb each advanced to the finals of their singles draw while junior Savannah Taranto rebounded from an early loss to win the back draw of her bracket.

Strickland and Deehr Lead Catamounts at Mountain Challenge

Sophomore Jordan Strickland and freshman Carli Deehr led the Western Carolina women’s tennis team this weekend at the annual WNC Mountain Challenge hosted by UNC Asheville as they went a perfect 2-0 in doubles play with wins over duos from USC Upstate and Kennesaw State.

Catamount Tennis Wins Two Flights at WCU Invitational

The Western Carolina women's tennis team opened its 2017 fall season this past weekend by hosting the WCU Invitational. The Catamounts captured an individual title and a doubles flight over the weekend. Sophomore Lauren McCall won the Purple 4 flight while freshmen Carli Deehr and Jordyn King teamed up to win the Paws 3 doubles flight in their first action as collegiate tennis student-athletes.
