Western Carolina redshirt freshman quarterback Tyrie Adams finished fourth in the final national voting for the 2016 STATS FCS Jerry Rice Award which is given to the nation's best freshman. The 2016 Southern Conference Freshman of the Year, Adams was the top rookie quarterback among the 23 finalists on the ballot for the annual award.
