Five Things To Know for Basketball Doubleheader Thursday

Western Carolina women's basketball and men's basketball will host a doubleheader Thursday in Southern Conference action in the Ramsey Center. Women's basketball hosts Mercer at 5 p.m. and men's basketball welcomes Wofford at 7:30 p.m. Both games can be seen on ESPN3 and WMYA MY40. The women's game will be the team's annual Play4Kay game and we encourage fans to wear pink and support the purple and gold.



Sophomores Lead the Way in Catamounts' Loss at Furman

Catamounts Travel to Furman for Paladins Play4Kay Game

Western Carolina completes its two-game road swing Saturday at Furman with tip-off set for 2 p.m. The game is the Paladins' Play4Kay game, encouraging fans to wear pink in honor of former legendary North Carolina State women's basketball coach Kay Yow and breast cancer awareness. The game can be heard on the Catamount Sports Network and seen on ESPN3 and WYCW TV 62.

Women's Basketball Wins Thriller Over Wofford 68-62

Western Carolina women's basketball was 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the final 19 seconds of the game to escape Wofford with a 68-62 win Thursday in the Richardson Indoor Stadium. The victory is Western Carolina's first Southern Conference, and road win, of the season.
