Western Carolina men's golf cruised to a 20-stroke victory at the 2016 Hummingbird Intercollegiate, finishing with three of the top five finishers including medalist, Dylan McQueen, and runner-up, Jackson Bishop.

Western Carolina has three men's golfers ranked inside the individual top 10 overall including co-leaders in juniors Jackson Bishop and Dylan MacQueen to lead its home tournament, the Hummingbird Intercollegiate, being contested at the beautiful par-71, 6,767-yard Country Club of Sapphire Valley (CCSV). Teams played under perfect conditions with sunny skies and unseasonably mild conditions, surrounded by the hues of autumn on the mountain valley course.

Western Carolina junior Jackson Bishop carded a career-low round of 5-under par, 66, in Monday's second round to lead the Catamounts at the Elon Phoenix Invitational. Bishop sits in a tie for ninth-place overall to pace WCU to 10th entering Tuesday's final round of play at the par-71, 6,867-yard Alamance Country Club.



MacQueen Leads Catamounts at David Toms Intercollegiate

Junior transfer Dylan MacQueen fired a final round score of 5-over par, 77, finishing the weekend with a 54-hole score of 223 to pace the Western Carolina men's golf team, placing amidst a tie for 13th overall at the David Toms Intercollegiate. The Catamounts (296-318-313=927) slipped to 12th on the final day of competition at the par-72, 7,220-yard University Club.
