In women‘s basketball action on Friday evening, the Villanova Wildcats registered a 62-42 win over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks in a game played at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa. With the victory, Villanova improves to 2-0 on the season, while Lehigh falls to 1-2 on the year.

In 23 minutes of action at Hartford, Gedaka recorded her second career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds to go with a career-high four blocked shots. Her 15 points included a 7-of-9 shooting effort from the field and a 1-of-2 performance from the foul line.

The Villanova Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams will take part in an exhibition doubleheader on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Jake Nevin Field House to help raise funds for hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico. The Wildcats’ women will host East Stroudsburg at 6 p.m. The men will meet Drexel at 8:30 p.m.



Villanova Picked Third in BIG EAST Preseason Poll

Wildcat junior guard Adrianna Hahn (Wilmington, Del.) was a unanimous selection to the Preseason All-Big East team. As a sophomore last year, Hahn started 33 of 35 games and ranked second on the team in scoring at 12.6 points per game. She led the Wildcats in three-point shooting by connecting on 93-of-226 for 41.1 percent. She also tallied 70 assists (2nd on team) and 38 steals (tied for team lead). Hahn reached double figures in points 18 times in 2016-17, including eight contests of 20 points or more and two games of 30 points or more. Her best effort of the season came against Xavier on Feb. 17, 2017, when she scored a career-high 33 points.

BIG EAST Signs Multi-Year Deal With Wintrust Arena To Host Women’s Basketball Tournament

Wintrust Arena, located in downtown Chicago, will be the home of the BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament presented by Jeep for the next three years, the Conference announced on Tuesday. Slated to open this fall, Wintrust Arena will be the home of DePaul basketball while also featuring a diverse, year-round calendar of events including national concert tours and conventions. The 2018 BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament is set for March 3-6, with dates for the 2019 and 2020 events to be announced.

Student-Athletes Enjoy Second Annual BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Transition Game

The second annual BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Transition Game program concluded on Sunday in Midtown Manhattan. More than 30 student-athletes from across the conference’s 10 member schools enjoyed an interactive educational and professional development weekend, which included Q&A sessions with such industry leaders as Doris Burke, the New York Liberty’s Sugar Rodgers, the New York Knicks’ Kristin Bernert, human resources specialist Cheryl Gelzer Alexis, JD, and BIG EAST Commissioner Val Ackerman.

BIG EAST To Host Second Annual Transition Game Program
