Men's Track & Field Welcomes Incoming Class as New Academic Year Gets Underway

A new academic year at Villanova marked the official arrivals to campus of a talented group of newcomers to the men's track & field program. With his latest recruiting class, Wildcats head coach Marcus O'Sullivan has addressed several team needs while once again attracting some of the nation's top talent to continue the Wildcats legacy of success both academically and in athletic competition.

Track & Field Announces Coaching Staff for 2017-18

The complete coaching staff for the Villanova track & field and cross country teams was announced on Monday afternoon by Marcus O'Sullivan, who begins his 20th season as the Frank J. Kelly Endowed Track & Field Coach. O'Sullivan announced the hire of Matt Valeriani as a new Wildcats assistant coach. Also joining the staff in 2017-18 are familiar faces Patrick Tiernan and Angel Piccirillo in the capacities of volunteer assistant coach and graduate assistant, respectively.

Men’s Track & Field Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honors

Redshirt freshman Logan Wetzel (Saline, Mich.) was named to the All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in an announcement on Friday afternoon. Villanova also earned recognition as an All-Academic Team for having a team grade-point average above a 3.0 during the 2016-17 academic year.

World Championships Preview: Wildcats Will Be Well Represented

A contingent of six current and former Villanova athletes are headed to London for the IAAF World Championships, which will be held at London Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from August 4-13. The six athletes competing at the world championships represent four different countries and they will combine to run at five different distances ranging from 800 meters up to the marathon.
