The Villanova Wildcats rallied from a 22 point third quarter deficit to stun the Butler Bulldogs in overtime by a score of 70-69. Villanova has now won four in a row to improve to 10-9 overall and 5-3 in Big East Conference play.

M. Track. Wildcats Sweep Top Three Spots in 3000 Meters at Gotham Cup

The trio of senior Ben Malone (River Vale, N.J.) and redshirt freshmen Andrew Marston (Wayne, Pa.) and Casey Comber (Maple Glen, Pa.) swept the top three spots in the 3000 meters to highlight several strong performances by Villanova at the Gotham Cup on Friday afternoon. The meet was the first of five straight for the Wildcats at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex.

W. Track. Wildcats Win Three Middle Distance Events at Gotham Cup

Villanova controlled the middle distance events in dominant fashion in its first of five consecutive meets at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex on Friday afternoon. Junior Siofra Cleirigh Buttner (Dublin, Ireland), sophomore Kaley Ciluffo (LeClaire, Iowa) and redshirt freshman Bella Burda (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) all won their events in their season debuts during competition at the Gotham Cup, and the Wildcats came out of the meet with several new personal best marks.

Football. Villanova Announces 2017 Football Schedule

Five home games at Villanova Stadium and the first meeting in five years with local FBS foe Temple highlight the 2017 football schedule, which was announced on Friday afternoon. Director of Athletics Mark Jackson and first-year head coach Mark Ferrante announced the 11-game schedule the Wildcats will play in their 124th season on the gridiron. Villanova begins the 2017 campaign presented by Independence Blue Cross, with a road game at Lehigh on September 2, and will host its home opener versus Lafayette on September 16.



W. Basketball. Women's Basketball Travels to Butler on Friday

Friday’s game versus Butler will be the eighth all-time meeting between the two schools. Villanova leads the all-time series against the Bulldogs by a 6-1 count. The Wildcats closed out the non conference portion of their schedule on Wednesday with a 60-48 win at Penn. The Wildcats will now play 11 straight Big East games to finish the regular season.

Villanova freshman Andrew Kelley (Belmont, Mass.) was named the BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Male Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career, as announced by the conference in a press release this afternoon. He earned the award for his performance against Providence on Saturday.
