Then, the teams will reconvene at Pauley Pavilion for another tilt on Sunday (Jan. 22) at 5 p.m. in Westwood. The Bishop's School product became California's all-time leading scorer in high school girls' basketball on Jan. 14. The very next day, she was named a McDonald's All-American with a spot on the West team. She and fellow USC signee Shalexxus Aaron were both nominees for 2017 McDonald's All-American status.

By the final buzzer, USC had its second win over a ranked team this season in the books, with four Trojans scoring in double figures. USC improves to 10-2 overall and takes a 1-0 start to conference play, while No. 20 Colorado goes to 10-2, 0-1.

An 8-0 run had carried USC into the lead during the second quarter, and it wasn't until the end of the third quarter that undefeated Mississippi State nudged ahead, benefiting from 10 Trojan fouls whistled in that 10-minute span. Five lead changes would come in the fourth before the Bulldogs maneuvered ahead and USC was just off the mark in its effort to equalize in the final seconds, leaving the Trojans with just their second loss of the year. USC goes to 8-2 with the loss, while No. 5 Mississippi State remains undefeated at 12-0.
