Five Women of Troy hit double digits in the fast-paced win, led by a career-high 24 points from Aliyah Mazyck. The high-scoring affair also saw freshman Minyon Moore serve up 15 assists — second most by a Trojan in program history to stand just behind 17 tallied by Rhonda Windham back in 1982. USC’s 111 points scored also was the sixth most in program history, last hit in 1981.

Four Women of Troy hit double digits in the game, led by a career-high 23 points from freshman Minyon Moore and a third straight double-double from junior Kristen Simon. The 49ers kept the pressure on the Trojans down the stretch, but USC would hold on and keep its guests at bay in order to ring up a third consecutive victory.

Sunday’s action marks another doubleheader with the USC men, who play at 7 p.m. after the close of the women’s game. Sunday marks USC’s Sneaker Drive (usctrojans.com/sneakerdrive), where fans are encouraged to bring new athletic shoes for donation to the needy. Bring shoes and get two free tickets! Also at the USC women’s game, the Women of Troy kick off the first SC Sunday of the season, featuring $1 pizza slices and a postgame autograph session.

A well-balanced effort by the Women of Troy led them to a final 67-54 victory over the Pilots in the championship game of the GCI Great Alaska Shootout, held at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage. At the close of the event, Simon was named the Most Outstanding Player and was joined by fellow junior Sadie Edwards and freshman Minyon Moore on the All-Tournament Team. USC improves to 4-1 with tonight’s win.

Four Women of Troy scored in double digits in the win, including double-doubles notched by GCI Player of the Game Kristen Simon (18 points, 11 rebounds) and Minyon Moore (15 points, 11 assists). The victory takes the Trojans to 3-1 overall and sets them up for the Shootout championship game at 6:30 p.m. PT tomorrow (Nov. 23) against either Portland or host Alaska-Anchorage.

USC (2-1) opens up with a clash against Missouri State (1-2) at 6:30 p.m. PT on Tuesday (Nov. 22) and will face either host Alaska-Anchorage or Portland on Wednesday (Nov. 23). USC's only other trip to Alaska was for the 1985-86 Northern Lights Invitational, back when current head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke was a senior onthe USC women's squad.

The Women of Troy go to 2-1 on the year with the loss, while UNLV improves to 3-0.

Moore registered a game-high 20 points along with six assists and six steals to spark USC, which trailed the Highlanders in the first quarter before forging a path to victory. Now 2-0 on the year, the Women of Troy will now turn to their first road trip of the season. UC Riverside goes to 1-1 with the loss to USC.
