Eric Sloan finished second in the men's long jump to earn a trip to the NCAA Championships in the event and 11 Trojan athletes advanced to NCAA quarterfinals tomorrow during the first day of the 2017 NCAA West Preliminary Rounds held at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas today (May 25). To advance in an event to the NCAA T&F Championships in Eugene, Ore. from June 7-10, an athlete must finish in the top 12 at the West Preliminary Rounds.

The USC men’s tennis team’s time in Athens, Ga., has come to a close after an NCAA Doubles loss today at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. USC’s #14-ranked freshman pairing of Brandon Holt and Riley Smith were up against the nation’s #7 team in the opening Round of 32 today, taking a loss that wraps the pair’s strong opening season as Trojans.

USC beach volleyball senior Nicolette Martin (Anaheim, Calif.) was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic first team to highlight the Trojans' seven academic honorees announced by The Conference on Thursday, May 25. Martin was also the Pac-12's Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 choice, and now a two-time Pac-12 all-academic first-team honoree.

Beach Volleyball. Hughes and Claes Named Pair of the Year

The USC beach volleyball pair of Sara Hughes (Costa Mesa, Calif.) and Kelly Claes (Fullerton, Calif.) was named the Pair of the Year on Wednesday, May 23, as announced on the publication's website. The Trojan duo was also named to the All-America first team. USC's No. 2 pair of seniors Sophie Bukovec (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), and Allie Wheeler (Saratoga, Calif.) received All-America honorable mention from the online publication. All four players are three-time national champions (AVCA 2015, NCAA 2016-17).

W. Volleyball. WVB EuroTrip 2017: Day 7 - Maribor, Slovenia

The USC women's volleyball team is in Europe from May 18-30 for seven international exhibition matches and a taste of European culture and sightseeing. On Day 7, the team's final day in the city of Maribor, Slovenia, the Trojans started the morning at a ropes course. In the afternoon, the Women of Troy split a four-set match against Hungary, the world's No. 33-ranked national team. On their last night in Maribor, the Trojans enjoyed a beautiful sunset and dinner at the Doppler Winery on the outskirts of town. W. Water Polo. Seven Trojans Earn MPSF Scholar-Athlete Honors

The USC women’s water polo team has landed a program record seven Trojans on the MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete list for 2017. Led by three-time honoree in senior Avery Peterson, repeat honors also go to Brianna Daboub, Ioanna Haralabidis and Annika Jensen, while three Women of Troy have picked up the first Scholar-Athlete awards of their USC careers in Nikki Stansfield, Courtney Fahey and Amanda Longan. All seven won an NCAA Championship in 2016 and helped the 2017 Trojans break the national record in consecutive wins in building out a 52-match win streak this year while USC worked its way to the NCAA Semifinals for the 14th consecutive season.

M. Golf. No. 1 USC Set For Title Run At NCAA Championships

The No. 1 USC men's golf team, a 2015 and 2016 NCAA Championships semifinalist with five firsts this year -- its most in almost a decade -- is playing for the program's first team title, Friday (May 26) through hopefully Wednesday (May 31) at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.

Baseball. Trojans Travel to Washington for the Final Weekend of Play

The Trojans (20-32, 7-20 Pac-12) travel to Washington (26-25, 12-15 Pac-12) for the final weekend of the 2017 season. Game one of the series is set for 6 p.m. PT on Thursday, May 25, game two is set for 7 p.m. PT on Friday, May 26 and game three is set for 4 p.m. PT on Saturday, May 27. All three games will be televised on Pac-12 Networks, with play-by-play from Roxy Bernstein and color from analyst Scott Erickson. The trip to Seattle is a trip home for head coach Dan Hubbs, who is a native of Renton, Washington, graduated from Kentridge HS.

W. Volleyball. WVB EuroTrip 2017: Day 6 - Maribor, Slovenia

The USC women's volleyball team is in Europe from May 18-30 for seven international exhibition matches and a taste of European culture and sightseeing. On Day 6, the Women of Troy visited the city center of Maribor, Slovenia. The team got to explore and experience the city itself before an afternoon match with the world's 79th-ranked team Austria. The Trojans fought hard, but fell in five sets, 25-20, 20-25, 20-25, 29-27, 15-13. Senior outside hitter Niki Withers blogs about the team's sixth day abroad.

M. Tennis. Brandon Holt Falls In NCAA First Round In Three-Setter

USC's #19-ranked freshman Brandon Holt was dealt just his ninth singles loss of his first season as a Trojan today, falling in his NCAA Singles debut in Athens, Ga. His 2016-17 campaign is not over, however, as Holt teams back up with his fellow freshman teammate Riley Smith tomorrow (May 25) for the NCAA Doubles Round of 32. The pair is ranked #14 in the nation and is coming off an upset win over the nation's top-ranked doubles pair, which the Trojans topped on court one during an eventual NCAA Team Round of 16 lost to host Georgia last week.

W. Golf. Trojans NCAA Championship Run Ends In Semifinals On Playoff Hole

USC's hopes for a fourth national championships were halted in the 2017 NCAA semifinals as Northwestern came back Wednesday (May 24) morning to erase the Trojans' slim lead from Tuesday and complete the match play win, 3-2, on a playoff hole at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
