W. Water Polo. No. 2 USC Rattles Off Two More Solid Wins At Winter Invitational

The No. 2 USC women’s water polo team picked up the pace on day two of the Winter Invitational, pinning up a pair of powerful wins to make it a 3-0 start to 2017. In the day’s opener against No. 22 Cal Baptist, USC received a career-high four goals from sophomore Courtney Fahey in a 22-1 win over the Lancers in Santa Barabra. USC freshmen Elise Stein and Sawyer Belville both tallied their first career goals as Trojans in that one. Later in the day, USC two other newcomers get on the scoresheet for the first time, as freshman Kaylee Brownsberger struck twice for the Trojans and goalie Holly Parker logged her first minutes in the cage in a 16-3 win over No. 23 Cal State Northridge.

M. Basketball. USC Hosts Arizona State At Galen Sunday

The USC Trojans (16-4, 3-4) will host the Arizona State Sun Devils (9-10, 2-4) at the Galen Center on Jan. 22 at 5:30 p.m. USC began the season 14-0 which ranks tied for the fourth-longest winning streak in school history and was the best USC start since the 1971 season. USC’s 16-4 start is its best since the 2002 team also went 16-4.

M. Tennis. No. 10 USC Men Double Up With Wins Over UC Riverside And UC Irvine

The No. 10 USC men's tennis team locked up two more wins in a well-rounded performance by the Trojans in a doubleheader at Marks Stadium. USC kicked off the day's action with a 7-0 sweep of UC Riverside, with the clincher notched by Jens Sweaney in that one. A couple hours later, the Trojans took on UC Irvine and posted a 6-1 win, claiming the first six points of the match and seeing Jack Jaede tally the clinching victory during that run. USC is now 3-0 on the year as the 2017 campaign unfurls.

Track. Ellis Sets The USC Indoor 400m Record And Both Relays Win At McCravy Invitational

Kendall Ellis set the USC women's indoor 400m record and both the men's and women's 4x400m relays posted impressive wins during the final day of action at the 2017 Rod McCravy Invitational held in Lexington, Ky. today (Jan. 21). In addition, Marquis Morris in the men's 60m hurdles, Nick Ponzio in the men's shot put and Just'N Thymes in the men's 60m dash all placed second in their respective events.

M. Volleyball. UCLA Men's Volleyball Downs USC In 4 Sets

The No. 2 USC women's water polo team issued a second-half shutout of No. 8 Michigan to load up an 11-3 win in the Trojans' season opener today at the Winter Invitational in Santa Barbara, Calif. Leading the scoring charge for USC were two brand-new Trojans, as freshmen Denise Mammolito and Maud Megens each scored twice in the victorious start to 2017 while sophomore goalie Amanda Longan gathered 13 saves in the complete-game outing.

The USC women's basketball team received a career night from senior Courtney Jaco, who nailed seven 3-pointers and finished with 27 points -- but it wasn't enough to pass up visiting No. 11 UCLA. The Bruins benefited from a slow second quarter by the Trojans and dominated the boards throughout to post a 74-59 win over host USC tonight at Galen Center. USC goes to 10-8 overall and 1-6 in Pac-12 play with its sixth straight defeat. UCLA improves to 14-4, 5-2.

Two-time NCAA champion goaltender Megan Ward has joined the USC women's lacrosse team as its director of operations head coach Lindsey Munday announced on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Ward, who was hired in July 2016 is the program's third director and just completed a four-year career at North Carolina where she helped lead the Tar Heels to NCAA championships in 2013 and 2016.
