The USC Trojans (21-8, 8-8) will host the Washington State Cougars (13-15, 6-10) at the Galen Center on March 1 at 7 p.m. The 2016-17 Trojans are the 15th USC team to win 21 or more games in school history. W. Basketball. USC Women Set Off For Seattle To Engage In Action At Pac-12 Tournament

USC continues its road-heavy late stretch of the 2016-17 season with a journey to Seattle for the action at the 2017 Pac-12 Tournament. The Trojans’ fourth road trip in five weeks will see USC settle in for competition at KeyArena, standing as the No. 9 seed in this year’s tourney. The Women of Troy (14-15) will open this year’s run with a first-round clash against No. 8 seeded California (18-12) at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday (March 2) at KeyArena. A win in that game would advance the Trojans into the quarterfinals against top-seeded Oregon State at 11:30 a.m. on Friday (March 3). The path from there would include an 6 p.m. semifinal on Saturday (March 4) followed by the championship game at 6 p.m. on Sunday (March 5).USC is now three years removed from its historic run to the 2014 Pac-12 Tournament Championship, where the fifth-seeded Trojans became the first team ever to win four games in the tournament.

W. Water Polo. Ioanna Haralabidis Wins MPSF Player of the Week Honors

Senior Ioanna Haralabidis scored 10 goals for the Trojans – including the game-winner in overtime in the championship game – and added six assists while also charged with defending opponents’ top centers to help USC win the title at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational. In doing so, Haralabidis also took over as USC’s No. 10 all-time career scorer. For her powerful efforts for the undefeated Women of Troy over the weekend, Haralabidis has picked up her first career selection as the MPSF Player of the Week.

As the Pac-12 Tournament looms on the horizon for the USC women’s basketball team, three Women of Troy will carry All-Pac-12 honors with them into tournament play this week. Junior forward Kristen Simon has landed a spot among the conference’s top-15 players as a member of the All-Pac-12 Team. Senior guard Courtney Jaco has earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention as well as All-Defensive Honorable Mention. And freshman guard Minyon Moore has locked in a spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.

The No. 14-ranked USC men’s volleyball team (6-10 overall, 5-8 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation)--led by national kills and points leader Lucas Yoder--heads to No. 4 Hawaii (15-2, 6-2) for a pair of matches this week, the first an MPSF contest on Thursday (March 2) and the second played as a non-conference clash on Friday (March 3). It was going to be a season of firsts no matter what for USC's Brandon Holt, who has stepped into a key role for the Trojans as a freshman. Rightly so, Holt is the first Trojan to be named Pac-12 Player of the Week as he comes off yet another winning week for the USC men's tennis team. USC leads the conference in all-time Pac-12 Player of the Week awards, having claimed 49 now on the men's side.

The No. 2 USC women's water polo team stuck No. 1 Stanford with an upset as the Trojans pulled out an overtime victory today to claim the championship at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational in Irvine, Calif. The Cardinal had closed in to tie up the game at the end of the third quarter and then again later in the fourth to bring up overtime. There, USC would issue back-to-back scores to take a lead in the first overtime frame. In the second, Stanford struck first, but USC struck last when it mattered, netting a blast from Ioanna Haralabidis to go up 10-9 with five second left, and USC would fend off the Cardinal for the win.
