No. 12 Gamecocks Selected To NCAA Columbus Regional

South Carolina women’s golf earned its 19th-straight NCAA postseason berth Thursday after being selected to the Columbus Regional. The No. 12 Gamecocks, who received the three seed in their regional, joined the 72-team field that was divided among four sites during this morning’s NCAA Selection show on Golf Channel.

Her three-round mark of 204 (-12), a new tournament and school record, secured a one-shot victory for the Goose Creek, S.C., native, who becomes the second Gamecock to capture SEC Championship Medalist Honors.

Senior Katelyn Dambaugh continued to lead the Gamecocks at the 2017 SEC Championship after carding a 2-under 70 in Saturday's second round at Greystone Golf & Country Club. The Goose Creek, S.C., native's performance put her two strokes off the individual lead at 6-under 138 through two rounds. No. 11 South Carolina, which posted a 290 (+2) on day two, sits in sixth place with a 36-hole mark of 576 (E).

No. 11 South Carolina women’s closes out the regular season at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga. The three-day event, which will be contested at the University of Georgia Golf Course from Apr. 7-9, features 18 holes of stroke play Friday before the 12-team field is broken down into two match-play brackets. The top-eight schools will compete in the “Red” bracket, while the remaining teams will play in the “Black” bracket. Two rounds of a match play will take place Saturday before the final matches get underway Sunday.
