The University of South Carolina equestrian team remains No. 8 in the latest edition of the NCEA national rankings, which were released Wednesday. The Gamecocks are one of four SEC teams ranked in the poll.



Carolina Tops Baylor, 12-6, to Start 2016-17 Campaign

The eighth-ranked University of South Carolina equestrian team opened the 2016-17 regular season with a victory, as they dropped fifth-ranked Baylor, 12-6, Friday at One Wood Farm. The Gamecocks improve to 1-0 on the season, with Baylor falling to 0-1.

The 2016-17 season began with a flourish on Friday as the University of South Carolina equestrian team defeated Alabama, 8-2, in a hunt season exhibition at One Wood Farm. The Gamecock western team was also in action, with the Black team defeating the Garnet squad, 5-2, in an intra-squad scrimmage.

South Carolina Signs Madelynne Herlocker for 2016-17 Season

University of South Carolina equestrian coach Boo Major announced Wednesday that Madelynne Herlocker has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Gamecock program for the 2016-17 season. A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Herlocker will compete in horsemanship at the collegiate level.
