For the third-straight season, South Carolina women’s basketball led the nation in attendance, averaging 12,277 fans in the 2016-17 season. The NCAA released its final season records Tuesday, showing the Gamecocks as the only women’s basketball program to average at least 10,000 fans.



Wilson to Sit Out Four Nations U23 Tournament

South Carolina forward A'ja Wilson was named to the 2017 USA Basketball Women's U23 National Team, the organization announced today. The 12-player roster, culled from the 36-player training camp that concluded Friday with Wilson's Team 3 winning the gold medal game, will compete in the 2017 U23 Four Nations Tournament in Tokyo, Japan, Aug 12-15.

South Carolina guard Tyasha Harris and the United States dropped a tough 86-82 decision to Russia in the gold game of the FIBA U19 World Cup in Udine, Italy, Sunday afternoon. The Americans had a 42-36 lead at halftime, but the Russians fought back with a dominant third quarter, and the U.S. fourth-quarter rally came up just short. Harris posted nine points on 4-of-8 shooting, nine assists and three steals.
