Wright State left-hander Danny Sexton limited fourth ranked South Carolina to just one run on six hits and a pair of two-run frames in the third and eighth inning was enough to lift the twenty-fifth ranked Raiders over the Gamecocks in game three of the weekend series at Founders Park on Sunday. Carolina is now 5-3 on the year with Wright State moving to 3-3 for the season.

Junior right-hander Wil Crowe struck out nine batters in 6.1 innings of work and junior catcher Hunter Taylor went 3-for-5 at the plate with two doubles on three hits as fourth ranked South Carolina defeated twenty-fifth ranked Wright State 10-5 on Saturday evening at Founders Park. The Gamecocks are now 5-2 on the season, while Wright State dropped to 2-3.

Carolina improves to 4-2 on the year, while the Raiders drop to 2-2.

South Carolina won its opening weekend series with a pair of victories vs. UNCG. The Gamecocks defeated the Spartans 7-1 and 5-1 with a 1-0 loss on Sunday. The Gamecocks are 2-1 on the year and will host five games this upcoming week at Founders Park beginning on Tuesday afternoon with Charlotte at 4 p.m.

Sophomore right-hander Adam Hill allowed just one hit and an unearned run in seven innings of work, but UNCG right-handers Matt Frisbee and Andrew Wantz combined to limit fourth-ranked South Carolina to four hits as the Spartans defeated the Gamecocks 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Founders Park. Despite the loss, the Gamecocks won the series and are 2-1 on the season with UNCG 1-2 on the year.

The Gamecocks' victory was played in front of a sellout crowd of 8,242 at Founders Park, the second straight sellout of the season.
