South Carolina Nominees for SEC McWhorter Post-Graduate Scholarships Announced

Jonathan Boland of the South Carolina men's swimming and diving team and Chelsea Drennan of the Gamecock soccer team have been nominated for the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship by the University of South Carolina.



Gamecocks Place 78 on SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll

A total of 78 South Carolina student-athletes from the basketball, equestrian and swimming/diving teams earned spots on the Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll. The list includes 701 members who achieved a minimum 3.00 grade point average for the 2016 Spring, Summer and Fall semesters from the league’s 14 schools.



Sherritt Named Women's Diving Coach of the Year, Seven Gamecocks Named to All-SEC Teams

Seven members of the University of South Carolina Swimming & Diving team were honored with spots on the All-Southeastern Conference Swimming & Diving Teams and Todd Sherritt was named the Women’s Diving Coach of the Year, the league office announced today. Gamecocks Akram Mahmoud, Fynn Minuth, Julia Vincent, Allyson Nied, Cody Bekemeyer, Nils Wich-Glasen and Albury Higgs each earned spots on the All-SEC Teams.



South Carolina Finishes 15th in the Nation, Five Gamecocks Earn All-America Honors

The University of South Carolina Swimming & Diving team continued to reach new heights on Saturday as five Gamecocks captured All-America honors on the last day of the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming & Diving Championships. South Carolina finished 15th as a team, their best overall result in 29 years.

More University of South Carolina Swimming & Diving program history was made on Thursday as Fynn Minuth, Akram Mahmoud and Tomas Peribonio earned All-America spots in the 500-yard freestyle at the 2017 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships. Minuth broke his own school record in the event and finished fifth, while Mahmoud finished in sixth and Peribonio came home in 12th.

It didn’t take long for the University of South Carolina Swimming & Diving team to make history as the 2017 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships opened on Wednesday night at the IU Natatorium. Carolina’s team of Fynn Minuth, Tomas Peribonio, Akram Mahmoud and Cody Bekemeyer finished as All-Americans and set a new school record in the lone event of the night, the 800-yard freestyle relay.
