Sat, 05 Aug 2017 19:09:00 EDT

What a difference a year makes. Last August, it's doubtful that Georgia Tech men's basketball coach Josh Pastner would have assessed his comfort level as he did Wednesday afternoon.

#TGW: Going to Jackson

Wed, 02 Aug 2017 12:16:00 EDT

With but a single school year between Tadric Jackson and a Georgia Tech diploma, he’s thinking less may lead to more, so he’s going light in chow lines and long on workouts.

The shooting guard cut weight before last season, and had – by far – his best campaign, so the 6-foot-2 senior from Tifton is trying to one-up, or downsize, himself again. He sure looks the leaner part; fans may hardly recognize him this fall.

#TGW: Summer Journey

Tue, 25 Jul 2017 16:56:00 EDT

Josh Okogie was shocked a few weeks ago while climbing upon the Great Pyramids of Giza, marveling over their size and trying to guess how ancient Egyptians moved those massive stones without "technology." Now, he's left wondering if he'll need a crane to help catch up in calculus.

What’s in a Number?

Wed, 19 Jul 2017 11:26:00 EDT

For the first time in several years, none of Georgia Tech’s returning basketball players is changing his jersey number. All six of the Yellow Jackets’ scholarship players have worn the same jersey numbers for their entire careers. The six new scholarship Jackets have their number assignments, and many of them have big jerseys to fill in terms of Tech basketball history.

Inside the Chart: Making More Layups = More Wins?

Fri, 07 Jul 2017 14:52:00 EDT

Josh Pastner sees beyond the trite, made-for-Internet punchlines. Georgia Tech’s second-year head coach is constantly searching for an edge, which is why he recently asked Miami Heat shooting coach Rob Fodor, known in coaching circles as a body movement specialist, to pay his program a site visit last month.

#TGW: Happy Birthday, Coach Cremins!

Tue, 04 Jul 2017 18:08:00 EDT

July 4th is a special day in America, for obvious reasons. It’s America’s birthday.

The day should be extra-special in Atlanta -- especially around Georgia Tech -- for a reason not as obvious. It’s Bobby Cremins’ birthday.

This July 4th is a big one for the Bronx, N.Y., native who built Georgia Tech’s basketball program into a national power in his 19 seasons on the sidelines. He turns 70 today.
