For the first time in several years, none of Georgia Tech’s returning basketball players is changing his jersey number. All six of the Yellow Jackets’ scholarship players have worn the same jersey numbers for their entire careers. The six new scholarship Jackets have their number assignments, and many of them have big jerseys to fill in terms of Tech basketball history.

Okogie Helps USA Basketball U19 Team to World Cup Quarterfinals

Georgia Tech sophomore guard Josh Okogie has been an integral part of the USA Basketball U19 team’s roll through pool play and its 48-point win over Mali Wednesday in the round of 16 at the FIBA U19 World Cup in Cairo, Egypt. The Americans have moved into the medal quarterfinal round Friday against Germany (2-1 in group B), who defeated New Zealand Wednesday to advance.

This July 4th is a big one for the Bronx, N.Y., native who built Georgia Tech’s basketball program into a national power in his 19 seasons on the sidelines. He turns 70 today.

As part of the agreement, Dickey’s 680/93.7 The Fan – the preeminent sports radio station in the Southeast – will remain the flagship station of the Georgia Tech IMG Sports Network through the 2021-22 academic year.

Georgia Tech will host Northwestern in the 19th renewal of the 2017 Big Ten/ACC Challenge with the game taking place on Nov. 28 at McCamish Pavilion. ESPN announced the dates of all 14 contests in the annual inter-conference series Monday in conjunction with the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Big Ten Conference. All games will be televised on the ESPN family of networks. Tip times and network assignments will be announced at a later date.

Season Ticket Sales for Georgia Tech Basketball Surge Past 2016-17

Georgia Tech sophomore guard Josh Okogie has secured a spot on the USA Basketball team that will compete in the FIBA U19 World Championships in Cairo, Egypt. Out of an initial roster of 27 of the nation’s best 19-and-under basketball players who began training Sunday at the at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., the final 12-man team was announced Thursday.
