Corboz and Wenger Named All-American

Georgetown University women's soccer seniors Rachel Corboz (Green Brook, N.J./Pingry) and Elizabeth Wenger (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) were named All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday evening. Corboz was named to the first team and earned her third-career All-America honor. Wenger earned a spot on the second team.



Five Hoyas Earn All-Region Honors

Five members of the Georgetown University women’s soccer team were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region teams on Tuesday. Four players were named to the first team and one earned a nod to the second team. The Hoyas and Ohio State were the only two universities to have five players honored, and Georgetown was the only school with four on the first team.

Senior Rachel Corboz (Green Brook, N.J./Pingry) was named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year, classmate Elizabeth Wenger (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year and senior Arielle Schechtman (Del Mar, Calif./La Jolla Country Day/UCLA) was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year. All three were also First Team All-BIG EAST honorees.



Women’s Soccer Wins BIG EAST Regular Season Championship

Georgetown University women’s soccer team won the outright BIG EAST Regular Season Championship with a 1-0 victory over the Xavier University Musketeers (8-7-4, 4-3-2 BIG EAST) Thursday afternoon at Shaw Field. It was the first outright championship in program history and the first regular season title since the 2012 campaign. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 12-3-3 overall and finish league play with a mark of 6-1-2.
