The Georgetown University women’s soccer team defeated the Marquette University Golden Eagles (10-6-1, 3-4-0 BIG EAST), 3-0, Thursday afternoon in BIG EAST Conference play at Shaw Field. With the win the Hoyas improved to 11-3-2 overall and 5-1-1 in the league. The victory also solidified a BIG EAST Championship berth for the Blue & Gray. Georgetown has two regular season games remaining.

Two members of the No. 12 Georgetown University women’s soccer team earned BIG EAST Conference honors on Monday. Senior Elizabeth Wenger (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for the second-consecutive week, while forward Amanda Carolan (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors after earning a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll last week. The Hoyas have won nine weekly awards this year including six on the defensive end.



Carolan Leads No. 12 Georgetown Past Villanova, 5-0

Sophomore Amanda Carolan scored four goals, including three in a 2:46 span in the first half and the No. 12 Georgetown University women's soccer team rolled to a 5-0 win at Villanova on Sunday in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. With the win, the Hoyas extended their unbeaten streak to nine-consecutive games and improve to 10-2-2 overall and 4-0-1 in conference play. The Wildcats fall to 6-8 on the season, and 2-3 in BIG EAST action.
