Hoyas Travel to Virginia to Face Old Dominion and Longwood

The Georgetown University field hockey squad (5-3, 0-1 BIG EAST) will travel to Virginia this weekend to face Old Dominion University on Friday evening at 5 p.m. in both teams’ second conference game of the season. The Hoyas will then play on Sunday at Longwood University at 1 p.m. Both games will be available to watch via livestream and through live stats on www.GUHoyas.com.

The Georgetown University field hockey team (5-3, 0-1 BIG EAST) was unstoppable on Sunday afternoon against the Towson Tigers (0-8) after they scored four goals in the first half. The Hoyas beat the Tigers 5-1 on Towson's own turf.



Georgetown Falls to Quinnipiac in BIG EAST Home Opener

It was a close match for the Georgetown University field hockey team (4-3, 0-1 BIG EAST) and the Quinnipiac University Bobcats (2-5, 1-0 BIG EAST) on Friday afternoon at Cooper Field, but the Hoyas unfortunately could not come out on top in its first BIG EAST game of the season. The squad fell by a score of 2-1 after a hard fought battle.

Georgetown University field hockey freshman Anna Farley (Bell Air, Md./Bel Air) was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. Farley had two goals plus two assists in a 1-1 weekend for the Hoyas.



Fraser’s Late Goal Wins Game for Hoyas

The Georgetown University field hockey team scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of the game to beat the Holy Cross Crusaders, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Hart Turf Field. After a tough loss in penalty strokes to the to the University of Massachusetts Lowell, 2-1, the Hoyas bounced back. With the win, Georgetown improves to 4-2 on the season, while Holy Cross moves to 2-3.

The Hoyas are coming off of a 1-1 week and have started the season 3-1.
