Getz Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Georgetown field hockey sophomore Lindsay Getz (Northfield, Ill./Loyola Academy) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Despite a pair of losses over the weekend, Getz managed to keep the team going with two goals, one that was a major key in each game. She currently has eight goals this season, ranking her second on the Hoyas.



Georgetown Loses By One to Lehigh

Despite sophomore Lindsay Getz’s (Northfield, Ill./Loyola Academy) late goal to tie the game in Sunday’s matchup against Lehigh, the Georgetown field hockey squad could not come back to defeat the Mountain Hawks in Bethlehem, Pa. The Hoyas dropped a 3-2 decision in a nonconference game, making them 8-7 overall and 1-4 in BIG EAST play.



Providence’s Late Goal Causes Georgetown to Fall Short

The Georgetown field hockey team (7-7, 1-4 BIG EAST) fought a tough battle Friday night in a BIG EAST matchup against Providence, but fell short with five minutes left to play. The score remained tied throughout most of the game until the Friars (9-5, 4-1 BIG EAST) scored a late goal to clinch the win, 4-3.



Georgetown Travels to Providence and Lehigh This Weekend

With only six games left of the season, the Georgetown field hockey team (7-6, 1-3 BIG EAST) will hit the road this weekend, travelling to BIG EAST rival Providence College and Lehigh University.
