Hoyas Fall to Fordham in WNIT

The Georgetown University women’s basketball team had a solid first half, but could not stop a second-half run as the Hoyas fell, 60-49, to the Fordham University Rams (22-11) in the first round of the 2017 Postseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) Friday evening at McDonough Arena. The Hoyas finish the season with a record of 17-13 in the team’s second-consecutive trip to the postseason.

The Georgetown University women's basketball team has arrived in Milwaukee for the 2017 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament, presented by the Jeep Brand. The sixth-seeded Hoyas (17-11, 9-9 BIG EAST) will take on the No. 3 seed host Marquette University (22-7, 13-5 BIG EAST), in the quarterfinals on Sunday. White and Adomako Earn All-BIG EAST Honors

Sophomore guard Dionna White (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) and junior guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) were both named All-BIG EAST on Wednesday by the league office. White earned a spot on the second team, while Adomake was named honorable mention. The awards were voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Senior forward Faith Woodard (Brandon, Fla./Freedom) led the way for the Hoyas with a career-best 31 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double in her final BIG EAST regular season contest.

Senior Faith Woodard scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in her Georgetown regular season finale, but it would not be enough as the Hoyas fell to No. 19 DePaul by a score of 79-70 on Sunday.

Georgetown Falls At Marquette

The Georgetown University women's basketball team (17-10, 9-8 BIG EAST) fell, 80-70, to the Marquette University Golden Eagles (21-7, 12-5 BIG EAST) at the Al McGuire Center. The Hoyas could not overcome late 3-pointers to drop the first contest in a two-game road trip to close out BIG EAST Conference play.



Hoyas Close Out Regular Season at Marquette and No. 19/18 DePaul

The Georgetown University women's basketball team (17-9, 9-7 BIG EAST) will close out BIG EAST Conference play with a pair of road contests this weekend. On Friday, Georgetown will face Marquette University (20-7, 11-5 BIG EAST) at 8 p.m. ET. On Sunday, the Hoyas will travel to No. 19/18 DePaul University (22-6, 14-2 BIG EAST) for a 1 p.m. matchup ET. Friday’s game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network, and Sunday’s contest can be seen on FS1.



Adomako Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

Georgetown University women's basketball junior guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after helping the Hoyas (17-9, 9-7 BIG EAST) to a 2-0 week in conference play. It is the fifth-consecutive week that a Hoya has been on the honor roll, and Aodmako’s second-consecutive honor.



Georgetown Defeats Xavier, 81-63, on Senior Day
