BIG EAST Releases Women’s Basketball Schedule

The Georgetown University women's basketball team and the BIG EAST Conference released the 2017-18 league schedule on Thursday afternoon. The Hoyas will have two games on national television being broadcast on CBS Sports Net (CBSsn) and FS2 with the remaining conference games available on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN).

Rodgers Named WNBA 6th Woman of the Year

Former Georgetown University women’s basketball player Sugar Rodgers was named the WNBA 6th Woman of the Year earlier this week. Rodgers and the New York Liberty are currently the third seed in the playoffs facing the Washington Mystics in the second round of the playoffs. Additionally, former Hoya Rebekkah Brunson and the Minnesota Lynx were the top seed in the playoffs.

Women's Basketball Releases Nonconference Schedule

The Georgetown University women's basketball squad released its 2017-18 nonconference schedule on Tuesday. The Hoyas will play three home games and seven road contests including three games in the 2017 Challenge in Music City.

Brunson and Rodgers Added to WNBA All-Star Game Rosters

Former Georgetown University women’s Basketball standouts Rebekkah Brunson and Sugar Rodgers were both added as replacement players to the rosters for the 2017 WNBA All-Star Game to be held on Saturday at KeyArena in Seattle. Brunson, a 14-year veteran with the Minnesota Lynx who will be making her fourth All-Star appearance, replaces Phoenix center Brittney Griner on the West roster. Rodgers, a member of the New York Liberty, will make her All-Star debut as a replacement for injured Elena Delle Donne on the East roster.

Women's Basketball Adds Two Transfers to Roster

Georgetown University Head Women's Basketball Coach James Howard announced the addition of two players to the Hoya roster. Junior guard Brianna Jones (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon/Louisville) and Anita Kelava (Zagreb, Croatia/Croatian National Team/Maine) will both be coming to the Hilltop this upcoming season. Per NCAA transfer rules, the pair will be eligible for competition for the 2018-19 campaign.
