Georgetown Finishes Sixth at ICSA Coed National Championships

Following two days of finals in an 18-boat final, the Georgetown University sailing team finished sixth in the finals of the 2017 ICSA Gill Coed National Championship on Friday night. The finals, held on the Charleston Harbor and the Cooper River in Charleston, S.C., concluded after 18 races in both the A division and the B division.

Georgetown Sailing Ready for 2017 ICSA National Championships

The Georgetown University sailing team will compete in all three spring national championships as part of the 2017 Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) National Championships, held Tuesday, May 23 through Friday, June 2, in Charleston, S.C. All three championships will be hosted by the College of Charleston at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Center in Mount Pleasant, S.C. The championships are the culmination of two seasons of intense competition and include the top schools from across the nation vying for the championship titles. It is the 10th-straight year the Hoyas have qualified for all three spring national championships.



Hoya Sailing Finishes Fourth at MAISA Coed Conference Championship

The Georgetown University sailing team finished fourth at the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) Coed Conference Championships, hosted by Cornell University over the weekend. The finish earns the squad a berth to the 2017 Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Coed National Championship, held May 30-June 2 in Charleston, S.C.



Georgetown Sailing Nabs 10 All-MAISA Honorees

At the conclusion of the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) Coed Conference Championship, hosted by Cornell University over the weekend, eight additional Hoya sailors were named to the All-MAISA First and Second Teams. They join the pair of honors the Blue & Gray garnered following the women's championships the previous weekend. The coed team claimed five honorees on the All-MAISA First Team and a trio earned spots on the All-MAISA Second Team.



Sailing’s Rose Edwards Named MAISA Conference Sailor of the Year

Following the conclusion of the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) Women’s Conference Championship, Georgetown junior Rose Edwards (Chicago, Ill./St. Ignatius College Prep) was named the 2016-17 MAISA Women’s Sailor of the Year. Additionally, Edwards was named to the All-MAISA First Team and sophomore Haddon Hughes (Houston, Texas/Episcopal) was selected to the All-MAISA Second Team.
