Prange Scores 1,000th Point as Women's Hoops Holds Off UMass, 55-49

Wed, 14 Feb 2018 21:42:00 EST

WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's basketball team had much more on the line on Wednesday night than its perfect all-time record at the Smith Center against visiting UMass. Also at stake was the Colonials' tenuous spot in the A-10 standings with less than two weeks to go in the regular season, as GW came into play tied for sixth with Saint Joseph's at 7-5, but just a game behind a fourth place tie where George Mason and Saint Louis stand. Not only were the Colonials able to extend to 23-0 all-time at home against the Minutewomen with Wednesday's 55-49 victory, but they also kept the pressure on the teams ahead of them in the standings in the battle for postseason positioning.
