Andrew Heck and Anthony DeFabio Receive Atlantic 10 Awards

Duquesne University junior Andrew Heck and sophomore Anthony DeFabio have been named to Atlantic 10 Baseball All-Conference Teams as voted on by the conference coaches and sports information directors. Heck was named First Team All-Conference while DeFabio was named to the All-Academic Team.

Dukes Take One of Three in Final Series

The Duquesne University baseball team wrapped up its 2010 season by winning one of three contests at Fordham May 20-22. The Dukes finished the season with a 16-40 overall record and a 10-17 mark in Atlantic 10 play.

Duquesne's baseball team dropped its home finale to visiting Temple Sunday afternoon, 8-3. Andrew Heck had four of Duquesne's nine hits, including his 10th home run of the season and his school record 23rd double.

Duquesne's baseball team won its fourth straight game, downing visiting Temple, 8-6 Friday afternoon at Duquesne Field. Mike Ganley had three hits for the Dukes, scoring twice while Matt Carson knocked in two runs and scored two times.

Anthony DeFabio Named Academic All-District

Duquesne University sophomore baseball player Anthony DeFabio was recently named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 Baseball Team as voted on by the district's sports information directors. His name has been placed on the national ballot.

Under blustery conditions with winds gusting up to 40 mph, Duquesne's baseball team evened its three-game series with visiting Richmond with a 14-7 triumph Saturday afternoon at Duquesne Field. Andrew Heck went 3-5 with three RBI and three runs scored and launched his ninth home run of the season.
