During his time at U of Iowa he was a three time All-American, Big Ten titlist, and NCAA Champion. He won an NCAA Title for Dan Gable. The reason he won was the match day mental preparation he developed his senior year.

"I always say that being a perfectionist is a really stressful place to live.  You are so hard on yourself all the time, you always put these high expectations and standards on yourself. You’re always disappointing yourself because somehow you always make mistakes," says Wendy Bruce-Martin.
