  • "It sounds like it was consensual. The #MeToo movement is tremendous and awesome and needs to happen and continue forever, but if someone had a bad date, then it was a bad date."

How to watch tomorrow morning's 2018 Oscar nominations announcement

Mon, 22 Jan 2018 18:01:43 GMT

Because I was wondering myself, here's how you can watch tomorrow morning's Academy Awards nominations announcement.

-- The nominations begin at 5:22am PST/8:22am EST and will be livestreamed on Oscar.com, Oscars.org, the Academy’s digital platforms (twitter, FB, etc), a satellite feed and local broadcasters (so probably on local news and E!)
-- The nominees will be announced with a combination of pre-recorded clips from celebs (including Michelle Yeoh, Rosario Dawson, Priyanka Chopra, Michelle Rodriguez, Rebel Wilson, and more), and live stage reveals of the actual nominations at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in LA (AKA not a garbage mess like last year's lame-ass nominations roll-out)

Here's the schedule:

5:22 a.m. PST (not in this order specifically): Cinematography, Costume Design, Film Editing, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score, Production Design, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects.

5:38:30 a.m. PST (not in this order specifically): Actor in a Leading Role, Actor in a Supporting Role, Actress in a Leading Role, Actress in a Supporting Role, Animated Feature Film, Directing, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Foreign Language Film, Original Song, Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay and Original Screenplay.

James Franco attended the SAG Awards amid sexual misconduct allegations

Mon, 22 Jan 2018 17:02:07 GMT

In early January, several women accused Franco of sexually exploiting them or other inappropriate behavior. Some of the women used social media to describe their experiences with Franco. Alison Brie, who’s married to Mr. Franco’s brother, Dave, said:“I obviously support my family, Not everything that has been reported is fully accurate, so I think we’re waiting to get all the information. But of course now is a time for listening and that’s what we’re all trying to do.” Franco, who looks like he reeks of beef jerky and thai food appeared briefly on camera when the nominees in his category were introduced. The crowd politely applauded, as it did with the other nominees.

Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin Discuss Season 4 of "Grace & Frankie" and The Power of Women's Voices

Mon, 22 Jan 2018 16:36:02 GMT

  • With the release of Season 4 of the hit Netflix show Grace & Frankie, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin sat down with the LA Times to discuss the popular show and the current climate in Hollywood.

  • On Season 4 and it's topic of aging, Creator Marta Kaufman said: “It really has to do with what happens when your age becomes a betrayal. The big thing is really coming to terms with ‘What does it mean to be this age? What am I still capable of doing? What do I want for myself at this age?"

  • On entering the last stage of life, Fonda said “I’m a believer in intentional living. This is the last stage of my life, and I don’t want to get to the end with a lot of regrets. There’s always some regrets, but I believe in envisioning dying. We never know how we’re going to die, but I imagine I’m in bed and I’m surrounded by loved ones. And I have to earn that. I have to make sure that I mend the wounds, that there’s healing that goes on.”

  • The conversation quickly shfited to the #MeToo movement, #TIMESUP and why it took so long to happen. Fonda said “I think it’s a turning point, I don’t think this is going to go away. I think women are really ‘woke’...First of all, that the women are being believed is the most important."

  • Fonda also addressed the sad realization about the movement when it comes to racial dynamics: “I do think the reason that it became so big so suddenly is because the women were white and famous. African American women have been speaking out about sexual harassment and violence in the workplace way longer than we have, way even before Anita Hill.”

  • Fonda and Tomlin both said they have been sexualyl harassed during their storied careers but never to the levels of Harvey Weinstein's victims.

Megyn Kelly Tries to Come For Jane Fonda, Calls Her Out on "Hanoi Jane"

Mon, 22 Jan 2018 15:52:40 GMT

Megyn Kelly responds to criticism from Jane Fonda saying that she has no regrets about asking about Fonda’s plastic surgery. Then she goes on to address Fonda’s own past, “Hanoi Jane,” and says she’s in no position to talk about what’s offensive. pic.twitter.com/woNQ9WcLNf

— Yashar Ali 🐘 (@yashar) January 22, 2018

  • In an attempt to boost her dying ratings, Megyn Kelly decided to come for Jane Fonda again.

  • Previously on her show, Megyn questioned Jane's plastic surgery. Jane rebuffed, "that's what you want to talk about?".

  • Jane appeared on the Today Show last week and after Lily Tomlin cracked a joke about Jane getting more surgery done, Jane said "Who are you Megyn Kelly?"

  • Megyn, clearly feeling butthurt, decided to call Jane out this morning by saying that asking Jane about her plastic surgery is only right because she was on her show to promote a film "about aging". (OP Note: That's what Megyn got from Our Souls at Night? K.). She goes on to say that she is promoting a show currently about aging and that these questions aren't off limits.

  • Megyn then goes on to say that she won't take advice on what is offensive from Jane Fonda when "Hanoi Jane" betrayed our military during the Vietnam War.
