Every Day I Wake

Tue, 11 Sep 2012 16:29:43 PDT

In advance of our gig at C'est What on Thursday, we're pleased to present our EP "This Little World" for streaming and download on SoundCloud.

These three previously unreleased songs were performed by Uncle Seth and recorded summer 2007 by the amazing Brian Moncarz.  The cover image is by our fabulous friend, artist Mile Murtanovski.

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily

Fri, 07 Sep 2012 09:50:42 PDT

It's less than a week until the big C'est What show. Naturally we'd love it if you could join us in person, but we know not everyone can make it to Toronto or for that matter out of the house on a school night. Luckily, there is a streaming option for you to enjoy in the comfort of your home, office or hot air balloon.

Audio via the C'est What's "whatsnextradio":
If you can't join us in the room, please join us online!

UPDATED: A previous version of this post included a Ustream video option which will no longer be available. Our apologies!

Play the tape machine, make the toast and tea...

(image) In anticipation of our September 13th gig, we're very excited to introduce the Uncle Seth mobile site/app.  That's right, we're goin' mobile and we want you to join us for the ride. The app includes brand new music in the form of our new EP, "This Little World." These three previously unreleased songs were recorded in 2007 by the excellent Brian Moncarz and our friend Mile Murtanovski has provided some lovely cover art to go along with it.

Check out the app now via this link or by scanning the QR code here. Enjoy!

We're back!

Thu, 23 Aug 2012 17:46:22 PDT

It's true! The first Uncle Seth show in 5 years is happening on September 13, 2012 at one of our all-time favourite venues, C'est What in Toronto.

It all started with singer Amaya Thompson contacting the other band members about doing a show to, as she put it, "commemorate the 5th anniversary of my 25th birthday." Jay Moonah, Chris Patheiger and Blake Papsin answered the call, and recruited bassist extraordinare Mark Sinclair to help fill out the sound.

The cover for this show is just $6. You can purchase tickets in advance on the C'est What website.

We hope to see you at C'est What on September 13!

Coverville Idol second place finish!

Sat, 03 Mar 2007 06:03:01 PST

I'm happy to report that Tara's and my version of Emerson Lake & Palmer's "Still... You Turn Me On" placed second in the 1973 edition of Coverville Idol! Only Andrew Rothman's terrific version of "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" got more votes. Thanks to all who voted, and to the always amazing Brian Ibbott of Coverville. And congrats to Brian on his upcoming show #300, a great milestone!

Live streaming from PodCamp Toronto

Fri, 23 Feb 2007 20:45:59 PST

Thanks to our friends from Ryerson University and C'est What Brew/Vin Pub, it appears the vast majority of PodCamp Toronto happenings will be available in realtime via streaming media links.

Visit the schedule page for the Quicktime video links for each presentation room, and for the Shoutcast audio link for Saturday night's performance from C'est What featuring Uncle Seth, +nurse & Sean McGaughey:

Unfortunately these streams will not be monitored at all times so we can't promise they will always be up, but with any luck you'll be able to partake in a great deal of the PodCamp Toronto from the comfort of your broadband connection.

Please feel free to blog or otherwise pass this information along to anyone not lucky enough to be here in Toronto for what promises to be an amazing weekend!

Coverville Idol! Cast your vote.

Sun, 18 Feb 2007 09:06:25 PST

We are very proud to be a part of Coverville Idol! Coverville, as you may know, is the fantastic all cover song podcast hosted by the very excellent Brian Ibbott. Coverville Idol gives musicians the opportunity to submit cover songs on a certain theme. This time out the theme was all songs from 1973. To that end Tara and I recorded a stripped down version of the Emerson, Lake & Palmer ballad "Still... You Turn Me On" which Brian kindly included in the show. Check it out along with the other entries:

Much like the American & Canadian Idol shows, there are judges but the real decision makers are YOU the fans! So please check out the show and cast your votes. Obviously we'd love for you to vote for us, but there are some other good competitors worthy of your attention so check them out as well.

Voting and individual song downloads are on the Coverville site at:

Anniversary Week happenings

Tue, 26 Dec 2006 08:20:25 PST

Retailers would like you to think of this as "Boxing Week" but to us in Uncle Seth it will always be "Anniversary Week!" Yes, it's been 8 years since the very first Uncle Seth show, and to celebrate we have THREE special events -- two virtual and one in real life!

For those who missed our November 24th "simulcast" in the virtual world of Second Life, we'll be doing a replay at our brand new house in Second Life on SoHo Island as part of our housewarming party. The fun starts at 7 pm Eastern (4 pm Pacific) Time TOMORROW (December 27th). You can get there via our special URL:

And back in Second Life the very next night (Thursday December 28th), we'll be doing an acoustic show at Podcast Island's Death Before Decaf Coffee House at 7:30 pm Eastern (4:30 pm Pacific). You can get there by going to:
(link is at the bottom of the page)

Finally, later on Thursday night you'll be able to catch Uncle Seth in the real world at Gary Seventeen's holiday party at the Renaissance Cafe (1938 Danforth Ave. in Toronto). We'll be on sometime after 10 pm for a 15-minute acoustic set, with lots of other great acts filling out the bill!

Hope you can join us for one of these events, and if not we hope you can catch you us 2007 -- it's shaping up to be an amazing year for Uncle Seth!
