Volunteering abroad

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 01:06:03 GMT

Hey! We have noted a strong interest among members of this website to engage in volunteer activities while traveling in South East Asia. As we are trying to make this process easier, more flexible and less costly - while enhancing the social impact, we would be forever grateful if you have knowledge of any local organisations in SEA that would benefit from being listed on an online database to attract more reliable volunteers. Have a great day!:) ... [Posted by axlundberg - Sep 21, 17:06]

Solo female travel advice?

Tue, 19 Sep 2017 13:26:43 GMT

I am a 25 female from the US and have been planning a solo trip to SE Asia for the past few months, and now is the time to take some action. I finally talked to my parents about my trip plans, trying to convince them that I'm being smart about traveling solo. But it was no use; they don't approve of me going alone. Before talking to them, I didn't have a doubt in my mind (despite all ... [Posted by rastacourage - Sep 19, 05:26]

Stomach Issues after returnig from SEA

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 09:38:55 GMT

Hey there, just a short question if maybe anybody else experienced this before. We've just returned from a 6 months trip through Southeasasia. We majorly had local food except for the occasional Burger every couple of weeks :-) except for a parasaite incident in Kathmandu nothing really worth mentioning happened - stomachwise. (and of course the occasional too hot thai food aftermaths :-D) We've returned 5 Days ago to germany - and both of us are suffering stomach pain ever since. ... Vietnam's Tourist Reputation

Tue, 05 Sep 2017 22:42:30 GMT

I've been doing a lot of research lately on safety and solo female traveling around SE Asia. I'd really like to travel along the coast of Vietnam on my own. I have read in the past that Vietnam can be one of the safest places in SE Asia, and even the world, but recently I've seen that the country is getting a bad reputation for scamming tourists. Especially since I will be traveling alone, does anyone have some ... [Posted by rastacourage - Sep 05, 14:42]

Help Planning SE Asia Trip?

Tue, 05 Sep 2017 13:43:24 GMT

I am currently planning a solo trip through SE Asia. I am trying to avoid overplanning, but I am also concerned about having backup plans for worst-case scenarios. I am tempted to reserve stays at trustworthy hostels/hotels throughout my trip, with the intentions to cancel if plans change, just so I have the security of having a safe place to go at night. However, I know plans change frequently and I want to allow flexibility for my trip. ... [Posted by rastacourage - Sep 05, 05:43]

Airline Marketing, which is least "stupifying"?

Wed, 16 Aug 2017 07:36:44 GMT

Its just really frustrating. I stop paying attention. But they always find their way in your social media feed. Airline ads... I didn't know how to delete the post... I was just frustrated... I didn't have to ask... I guess the airline ads are here to stay... and some countries just have a much more tormenting websites and misleading marketing scheme. ... Moalboal VS Bohol

Wed, 09 Aug 2017 08:56:58 GMT

Hi all, I am planning a trip (with my girlfriend) to Cebu in September. We will be staying for a total of 3 nights and 4 full days. After a bit of research, we will probably directly skip Cebu City and head to either Moalboal or Bohol. I would like to squeeze at least 1 day of snorkeling/freediving/island hopping in the itinerary. Other than that a bit of nature/culture would also be nice. I've read great things about snorkeling & diving in Moalboal, but ... [Posted by Tars - Aug 09, 00:56]

The wife wants to go somewhere next year with her sister and her (3yo) kid. We live in Taipei, they live in Jakarta so it's got to be somewhere in Asia? I was thinking Johor in Malaysia, because of Thomas Land (my nephew likes Thomas), the petting zoo and Legoland. Or Hong Kong for Disneyland. Any other suggestions? ...
