American Road Trip

Mon, 19 Mar 2018 12:05:07 GMT

Hi all Would appreciate any advice, feedback, information or other comments. I'm going on an 8 to 10 week trip around N America this autumn. I'll be flying from Dublin to New York and then taking an elliptical route, by Californian Zephyr train, to West Coast. I'll spend some time in LA and west coast. I'll then go by train to connect with Alaska Marine Highway ferries from Bellingham to Whittier and maybe further along route to Dutch Harbour, return by AMH ferries to ... Around Mexico City. Two week whirlwind.

Thu, 15 Mar 2018 05:20:32 GMT

So, I just got a scuhReaming deal to Mexico City. I couldn't pass it up. I've been to Mexico City a couple of times, to fly out but never really been around the area. I'll see Teotihuacan I think, but is there anything else? I've been thinking of shooting up to San Miguel de Allende, and I'd like to make whatever route I do a circle, but I'm wide open. I'd hate to ... [Posted by Piecar - Mar 14, 21:20]

Wed, 14 Mar 2018 19:27:25 GMT

I was looking at the bogus -what is your favorite place in Europe thread and trying to figure out what my favorite place in Europe is. And I'm thinking it is either Cornwall or else Barcelona. But my favorite place changes according to where I've been recently. So I thought to ask. Where in the US or Canada is the favorite place to visit of people who are not FROM the US or Canada. If you live ... [Posted by greatgrandmaR - Mar 14, 11:27]

I will be visiting my family this coming May for two weeks. I have a green card and an Italian passport that I will be using to travel. The passport expires in October 2018, and I did the ticket thinking there wouldn't be any problem since I will come back in June. But now I am wondering: will I be ok to come back to the States in June if my passport expires in October? Unfortunately, I don't have the ... [Posted by nohemide - Mar 12, 16:46]

Sun, 11 Mar 2018 16:48:09 GMT

Hello everyone! First of all, I realize my question is not exactly about travelling, but I noticed that these kinds of topics have been discussed here in the past so I hope i’m not saying anything that would sound totally off topic. I’m an Italian law student and in a year or so i’ll finish my program and receive my law degree. Law school lasts 5 years in Italy (it’s what we call a “magistrale a ciclo unico”, so bachelor + ... Going back sooner than expected

I’m in Costa Rica right now for a vacation. The initial plan was to stay here for a month, but because of some family emergency, I need to cut my trip short. I called the travel agency where I got my ticket from and they said they couldn’t rebook my ticket because of the itinerary I chose. I don’t know what to do. My parents would be very disappointed if I don’t go back to Chicago soon. I already feel bad ... [Posted by jjeremi32 - Feb 18, 15:45]

Credit Card Needed/Worth it?

Tue, 23 Jan 2018 13:59:11 GMT

Hi there! Me and my girlfriend are planning to travel across the states for 6 months from August this year (2018) and I just had a couple of questions regarding the best way form of payment to use. I have often heard that the best and most common/important form is that of a credit card but we are both Europeans (me English and her Dutch) and have never had a credit card before. Is it something which is necessary for travelling ... [Posted by Daniel Davies - Jan 23, 05:59]

Pre Clearance customs airports in eu/uk

Tue, 16 Jan 2018 16:33:35 GMT

USA pre clearance. I have read somewhere before that there was a pre clearance customs unit as Belfast..... however when I Google for Info, it comes up with Shannon and Dublin. Does anyone know if there is at all these? I will (fingers crossed) have a visa come through after my appointment at the start of October, and I know that's not a guarantee so would like to go through pre clearance if possible (and am aware that you can still ... Connecting Flight: Mexico City

Sun, 14 Jan 2018 01:56:41 GMT

Esteemed Fellow Travelers: Quick question having to do with Benito Juarez (MEX) International. My companion and I will be arriving there with somewhat less than a 3 hour wait until our connecting flight (Interjet) (not yet booked) - My concern is that it will take too much time to clear customs, adding to that; time involved in (possibly) retrieving baggage, then locating Interjet, checking in, etc...I am not familiar with this specific airport, although I believe our arrival ...
