I'm thinking of a trip to Moldova, Romania and area. Looking at going into the Transnistria microstate and I'm reading conflicting info on corruption at the border, ranging from advice to stand your ground and insist you don't have to pay to enter, to you may have your passport destroyed if you won't pay a substantial bribe. Has anyone been? Can you clarify what to expect? ... [Posted by Andyf - Mar 21, 01:41]

Open-ended travel dates: How to navigate customs

Mon, 06 Mar 2017 04:45:55 GMT

Hi everyone, I am planning an open-ended trek through Europe using Ireland as my base. I am flying to Ireland from the U.S., and from Ireland will go to the Continent. I would like to keep my dates open-ended, to allow for spontaneous travels. I will go to Ireland in July, but want to keep my options open in case I want to continue traveling through the fall. Is this unrealistic? Do I need a firm date leaving Ireland to ... [Posted by HoboGrl - Mar 05, 20:45]

Potentially Moving to Europe

Thu, 02 Mar 2017 18:14:50 GMT

My family and I currently reside in the USA. Due to many factors, we are considering moving out of country as soon as my husband finishes his graduate studies in a year. I've tried to do some research into moving to Europe with a young family, but I cannot seem to find any concise answers. If anyone could help me, that would be appreciated. Here are a few facts about us, our situation, and what we're looking for: Both husband and I ... [Posted by RisRit - Mar 02, 10:14]

Luxembourg tips

Thu, 02 Mar 2017 10:32:27 GMT

I'm off to Luxembourg City next week for 2 days. I'm planning to do the obvious highlights such as the balcony walk, the Bock Casemates, the museum and the cathedral but can anyone suggest any hidden gems which might be worth seeing? Also can anyone suggest a traditional, reasonably -priced restaurant which serves typically Luxembourgish cuisine (and preferably one where I'd feel comfortable dining solo!) Thanks. ... Western/Central Europe Itinerary help :)

Wed, 01 Mar 2017 17:29:55 GMT

So my brother and I are thinking of backpacking across Central Europe this summer (Aug-September) - we're both pretty fit, love nature and old cities in equal measure, and want to go as shoestring as possible. Wanted a few thoughts on the itinerary we have thought of: number of days per city/town, whether we should add/subtract any destinations, and whether we're making the most of our time. Since my tickets are already booked, the trip will have to start and ... [Posted by rooroundthewrld - Mar 01, 09:29]

Where to buy things outside of Munich

Sun, 26 Feb 2017 07:04:56 GMT

Hi. We're going to the Alps for 4 months this summer. We fly into Munich, and pick up a van that we'll have for the entire trip. We plan to spend the first few days outfitting the van. We'll need to buy a camping stove, cooking stuff (pots, pans, utensils, etc.), plastic storage bins, food supplies, some basic camping gear, etc. A store similar to a Walmart supercenter (in the USA) would be great. We also ... [Posted by TravelHog2018 - Feb 25, 23:04]
