Three friends going for a 800km holiday trip

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 21:27:09 GMT

Hello, firstly we would like to introduce ourselves, we are three lifetime friends from Czech Republic. We are all 18 years old and studying 3rd grade at highschool. When we went to primary school together we had school trips to Croatia, Premantura. We experienced there a lot of great things, you know, first parties, first girls etc. So we wanted to re-live this, but in different way. Our goal for this year summer holiday is to go there again, but with ... [Posted by Letik - Feb 20, 13:27]

Suggestions for a week in the Carcassonne region

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 14:27:16 GMT

We are going to spend our week long 'crocus holiday' in South East France/Andorra/Spain border region. We will be based in Carcassonne for the entire time and will have a car. Any suggestions for interesting stuff to do that doesn't necessarily feature in the conventional guide books? Our particular interests are wildlife/nature, scenery, history and food, and we'll have our 13 and 10 year olds along with us. Given the time of year, any 'wet weather alternatives' would be particularly ... [Posted by harbinger - Feb 20, 06:27]

A weekend away from Zurich

Fri, 17 Feb 2017 22:36:48 GMT

Next week I'm in Switzerland on business and then I have 3 days the weekend after to travel. I can leave from Zurich and don't want to spend a lot. Happy to get on a plane, although most of the flights out of Zurich are not exactly cheap. Also would be fine to get on a train - preferably a fast one. Thinking of Paris (4 hours) and Salzburg (about the same.) But I could use some ... [Posted by toddg147 - Feb 17, 14:36]

first time in Prague

Fri, 17 Feb 2017 16:04:22 GMT

Hi everybody, I’m planning my trip to Prague. I’ve already booked my flight and the airport shuttle. Given that I will be in Prague only 3 days (and alone) I was thinking of booking a city tour as well. There is something in their offer. What do you think about it? Is it a good solution to see all the major attractions in a short time? Should I do a tour or sightsee on my own? Thanks in advance for all ... [Posted by pineapple_81 - Feb 17, 08:04]

Accommodation Prague

Fri, 17 Feb 2017 10:14:55 GMT

Hi everyone, What are the decent sites I can use to find accommodation in Prague, I found few but they don't seem to offer what we're looking for because I'll be traveling with my wife and 2 kids. We would like to stay for about 12 weeks. We have tried these sites so far: Even this -- which seem to be quite good to get updates of new offers. Please share and ... Related to the Switzerland thread I started

Thu, 02 Feb 2017 21:23:44 GMT

I am not a fan of third party booking sites and see them as no better than a parasite. No pun intended. I just took a look to see what some of them would offer me for the hotel I mentioned on the thread re Switzerland not being more expensive. The example is a hotel offering a room for 2 people at $78 CAD per night, w/breakfast, during April/May. Here is some info on what some third party booking sites shows for ... Who says Switzerland is expensive?

Thu, 02 Feb 2017 16:32:07 GMT

One of my pet peeves are people who keep insisting Switzerland is an expensive country to visit. While it isn't cheap, I have found over many visits that is is no more expensive than many other places in Europe. Yet this perception continues to exist that it is. Recently, I got an e-mail from a hotel in Switzerland where we have stayed in the past. It is a small hotel with only 21 rooms. There is also ... [Posted by OldPro - Feb 02, 08:32]

We are visiting Southern France from May 13 onwards, during our two months travel in Europe. We are on budget, and will travel by train/bus, and enjoy scenic views, markets, architecture, photography (less museum and no wine tasting). Hope to do many day trips to nearby attractions where public transport is available. Kindly advise how many days we need for Southern France , and how many nights each to stay in Avignon, Provence and Nice if we have 10-13 nights to ... [Posted by aileenk88 - Jan 30, 23:42]

Helsinki, Norway and St Petersburg

Mon, 30 Jan 2017 17:28:21 GMT

My dad has a day course in Helsinki early June 2017 and we plan to take the opportunity to travel around the Scandinavia (probably not all) as we are quite short of time. All in all, we have approximately 7 days +- and one day will be taken up for the course. None of us (in a group of 4) has ever set foot in the Scandinavian countries and given the not-so-long break we have, we would like to cover ... [Posted by tehsi - Jan 30, 09:28]

Need help deciding a family trip to Europe

Get bad migraines, so not trying to spend all my time in a big noisy, smelly city. Love epic nature backdrops) Mom (65th bday celebration. Loves serene, peaceful, nice environments.) Hi all, I'm reaching a point in my career where I feel the need to return to school. I've worked for years cooking in kitchens and love the atmosphere and food, and now I'm trying to find how to expand my knowledge. I'm looking for the right school/program where I can study chemistry, biology and food sciences. Hello everyone. We're planning a trip starting and ending in uk to europe. The 4 destinations are at the top of the list for various reasons although we are open to suggestions. We would like to travel as cheaply as possible and although we want to see some of the typical touristy places we want to avoid that as much as possible and see the country's for what they actually are, the local ways of life and traditions. :) Any ... WHV - Canada to Denmark

Wed, 18 Jan 2017 19:49:36 GMT

Hello, I have a questions regarding working holiday. I am from Edmonton, Canada and would like to apply for a working holiday. My question is about the process and biometrics scans. Online it says I have to apply in person in which the only locations are in Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto which are very far and very expensive for me to get to. If the biometric scan is mandatory, my question is can I do the scan/apply when I visit Denmark next ... [Posted by rahulio9 - Jan 18, 11:49]
