Christmas & NYE in Oz

Sat, 22 Jul 2017 10:10:18 GMT

Hi, I'm travelling in Australia, by myself, between november and march. I was wondering what would be a nice place to spend the holidays? I don't have an itinary yet, so I'm pretty flexible about locations :) Sydney would be the obvious choice, but I'm looking for some other options. I'm a 30 year old, female solo traveller. Thanks in advance for the advice, it's much appreciated. ... [Posted by kathschroeyers - Jul 22, 02:10]

Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand Planning

Tue, 11 Jul 2017 09:09:22 GMT

Hello everyone, My family and I will be leaving for a trip this December to go to Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia. What would be the best route to take? We were thinking that flying to NZ first and working our way to Australia and then Malaysia last would be the best in terms of ticket pricing (December tickets are incredibly expensive), and the best use of our time. We're flying from Chicago, if that helps anybody! ... [Posted by aah2 - Jul 11, 01:09]

What can I plan for a weekend in Brisbane ?

Thu, 29 Jun 2017 08:45:41 GMT

We will be in Brisbane for about a week in the 2nd week of July'17 - me and my wife. My work will mostly be centred around the University of Queensland, St. Lucia Campus. So I will be occupied for most of the working hours. The time we shall have for myself should be the weekend, and we plan to make full use of it. We are strictly "Budget" travellers. We don't mind moving around for the whole day - if we should. From what ... [Posted by Arunava - Jun 29, 00:45]

Registering car in SA, Proof of Address?

Mon, 05 Jun 2017 12:23:29 GMT

Hi All, I am intending to take some time off to travel around Australia. I bought a van which is currently registered in SA. I would like to transfer the registration, but how to go about proof of address? Apparently SA is an "easy" State with car registration recommended by backpackers. Unfortunately I cannot find more details about the proof of address process. According the Transport SA site it is quite strict, i. e. no bank statement etc.? I would appreciate some ... WHV 2nd Year Help Urgently Needed!!!

Sat, 20 May 2017 05:53:48 GMT

I have a bit of a problem and I'm really confused. I've just moved to Mildura to start my three months (or 88 days) work in order to get my second year visa. I'm staying in a working hostel...the hostel itself is fantastic and I think I really got lucky. However, in terms of working I'm finding things a bit of a mine field. I started working yesterday in a juice packing shed, but I only worked for three hours ... [Posted by jameserob - May 19, 21:53]

Working Holiday Visa - Absent from UK for more than 2 Years

Thu, 18 May 2017 21:10:12 GMT

Hello Fellow Travellers! I am currently applying for my Working Holiday Visa for New Zealand and I'm stuck on the last question of the application! I'm a British citizen but I travelled Australia for 2 years and then South East Asia for 5 months. I returned to the UK in February 2017, and the last question asks if you meet the specific requirements for your countries scheme. The united kingdom scheme specifies that you haven't been out of the UK for more ... [Posted by CloClo871 - May 18, 13:10]

I did come through that airport coming to Australia, but a part of me thinks it was just luck that I didn't get lost. This is my first international trip and my first trip on planes. I have bad anxiety and I'm hoping someone can ... [Posted by Jess872 - May 17, 17:23]

Tongaririo Alpine Crossing - a Victim of its own Success

Mon, 01 May 2017 18:48:38 GMT

One of New Zealand's greatest one-day treks through Tolkien's Mordor with a backdrop of Mt Doom is becoming so popular it's no longer a hike in the wilderness. It's quite rightly got such a reputation that it's on visitors' "to do" list before they step foot in the country. Apparently 125,000 people did the walk in 2015 - taking into account the number of days in the year the crossing is walkable, that's almost 1000 per day. ...
