Backpacking Australia March 2018

Thu, 18 Jan 2018 09:06:31 GMT

Hi, I am traveling to Australia in March on a granted 12 month tourist visa. I am planning to travel solo for now and hopefully will meet a travel buddy along the way. I plan on volunteering for hosts to attain a more authentic cultural experience and to cut down on costs for food and accommodation. I am open to any variety of cheap transportation. I plan to take my time to go on hikes, surf and enjoy tourist activities. ... [Posted by Blue Sky - Jan 18, 01:06]

Mon, 15 Jan 2018 12:14:11 GMT

Hello all, I have joined this forum looking for some advice. For Fiji, which is what I need advice on, we are staying for about two weeks. The first week, we want to stay on either an island in the Mamanuca's or the Yasawa's - as we want to be somewhere as idyllic and tropical as possible. ... [Posted by lmdp - Jan 15, 04:14]

East Coast Australia March

Fri, 12 Jan 2018 14:56:02 GMT

I am travelling to Australia in March on a year long working visa. I am visiting family just north of Melbourne first before I set off to do the East Coast. I'm wondering what the best option is between travelling north from Melbourne - Cairns or vice versa. Flights from Melbourne to Cairns seem to be quite cheap around that time so I could quite easily travel south. I imagine I'll be setting off the last week of March. Also, I've ... Second Year Oz Visa - Help!

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 23:13:33 GMT

So basically I did my farm work in Australia. I’m now in New Zealand for a few weeks traveling and I applied for my second year Oz visa in NZ about a week ago. It says it has been received but I’m still waiting for it to be granted. If you apply for the visa outside of Oz then you have to stay in the country you applied for it from until it’s granted, so for me that’s NZ. Problem ... [Posted by jameserob - Dec 10, 15:13]

Greyhound from Alice to Townsville??

Mon, 04 Dec 2017 21:59:43 GMT

A friend and I are flying from Brisbane to Alice and then we are booked on to a 5 day tour to see Uluru, Kings Canyon, the Olgas etc. After the tour we are looking into going from Alice to Townsville by Greyhound then on to Cairns or we could fly from Alice to Cairns. The bus trip to Townsville takes just over 24h and is a little cheaper than the flight (plus saving on accomodation for one night!!). There ... [Posted by Stanne5 - Dec 04, 13:59]

Mobile phone sims in Australia

Mon, 06 Nov 2017 13:51:50 GMT

Could anyone recommend the best mobile phone sim to buy while I am in Australia? I'll be there for three months, so I just want a pay as you go sim for light usage (likely I'll only use it for booking hostels, travel, etc). Also, where can you buy sims from? Do 7-11s sell them? And finally, what is the coverage like in Australia? I'll be flying into Perth and traveling up the West Coast and also around the South West, so I'll ... [Posted by HaadRinGuide - Nov 06, 05:51]
