Has anyone ever used a car sharing service

Thu, 09 Mar 2017 03:41:03 GMT

Hey folks - I was wondering if people have heard of, ever used or considered using one of those car services where you can leave your car at the airport and then rent it out for other travelers to use while you yourself are on vacation. If you've done it, did you get your car back in the shape it was left? If you've heard of it, but have never done it, what is the hesitation? Thanks ... [Posted by usctwin - Mar 08, 19:41]

Inclusion of links in travel advise

Thu, 02 Mar 2017 22:48:54 GMT

Jambo! Greetings Admin: Question: As a fairly active travel advisor on VT, I frequently wrote lengthy travel advise to folks in various world destinations and I usually added links to activities and some recommended vendors who I knew and used and some I knew to be good. No promotions, and no personal touting of vendor friends. Just liked to include complete information that was researchable. Also, if that is OK, will the links be "clickable" or will a cut/paste be ... [Posted by Odinnthor - Mar 02, 14:48]

Travel Insurance

Thu, 23 Feb 2017 13:23:13 GMT

If an airline cancels a flight and reshedules the flight for a full 24 hours later that then delays your travels by one day and the only options given are 1. Move your travel back one day with the same airline ( not an option due to circumstances unable to change) 2. Spend a full 24 hours in stop over country 3. Recieve a full refund on first leg of flights to then book a ticket with another airline but as ... [Posted by Summer12121 - Feb 23, 05:23]

Refugees see travel differently

Sun, 12 Feb 2017 17:07:50 GMT

So here we are posting in a travel forum on all kinds of topics including things that are of 'concern' to us like: What documentation do I need? Where should I go to on my next trip? How much luggage weight am I allowed to take? Is travelling with a small child easy to do? Does anyone know of a good hotel to stay in? What are the must sees/best things to do? Am I allowing enough time in X? etc. etc. Try asking yourself, whatever your travel concern ... [Posted by OldPro - Feb 12, 09:07]

Getting familiar in a new place

Fri, 10 Feb 2017 17:24:29 GMT

How do you get aquainted with a new town or city? I'm a big fan of the hop-on, hop-off bus tours that run in the larger cities, I usually do the whole circuit (or 2) then spend the rest of my time visiting the destinations that stood out for me, I also like the fact you can often encounter places you may not have discovered by yourself. The commentary provided is imformative giving a better understanding of the history and relevance ... [Posted by wizzmor1977 - Feb 10, 09:24]

Where would you not return to?

Thu, 09 Feb 2017 17:10:30 GMT

We often see posts asking about the 'best' places to visit and 'must sees' somewhere. I thought it might be interesting to read about what other people's 'never again' list includes. So where did you go or what did you do on your travels that you found to be a big disappointment? Generally speaking, I haven't been disappointed very often when travelling. If you tend to make the most of things and see your glass as half ... [Posted by OldPro - Feb 09, 09:10]
