Travel Insurance

Thu, 23 Feb 2017 13:23:13 GMT

If an airline cancels a flight and reshedules the flight for a full 24 hours later that then delays your travels by one day and the only options given are 1. Move your travel back one day with the same airline ( not an option due to circumstances unable to change) 2. Spend a full 24 hours in stop over country 3. Recieve a full refund on first leg of flights to then book a ticket with another airline but as ... [Posted by Summer12121 - Feb 23, 05:23]

Refugees see travel differently

Sun, 12 Feb 2017 17:07:50 GMT

So here we are posting in a travel forum on all kinds of topics including things that are of 'concern' to us like: What documentation do I need? Where should I go to on my next trip? How much luggage weight am I allowed to take? Is travelling with a small child easy to do? Does anyone know of a good hotel to stay in? What are the must sees/best things to do? Am I allowing enough time in X? etc. etc. Try asking yourself, whatever your travel concern ... [Posted by OldPro - Feb 12, 09:07]

Getting familiar in a new place

Fri, 10 Feb 2017 17:24:29 GMT

How do you get aquainted with a new town or city? I'm a big fan of the hop-on, hop-off bus tours that run in the larger cities, I usually do the whole circuit (or 2) then spend the rest of my time visiting the destinations that stood out for me, I also like the fact you can often encounter places you may not have discovered by yourself. The commentary provided is imformative giving a better understanding of the history and relevance ... [Posted by wizzmor1977 - Feb 10, 09:24]

Where would you not return to?

Thu, 09 Feb 2017 17:10:30 GMT

We often see posts asking about the 'best' places to visit and 'must sees' somewhere. I thought it might be interesting to read about what other people's 'never again' list includes. So where did you go or what did you do on your travels that you found to be a big disappointment? Generally speaking, I haven't been disappointed very often when travelling. If you tend to make the most of things and see your glass as half ... [Posted by OldPro - Feb 09, 09:10]

Hello, I'm 18 and over the summer I want to go to Canada to visit a friend for a couple days (I'm from US). However, my parents are being very weird about me traveling/flying alone. I'm trying to tell them that I have to learn at some point, but the tell me that I have no idea. Are there any good points I can bring up to convince them that this is a good opportunity? I know legally they can't ... [Posted by sarcasm - Feb 02, 17:14]

A good question

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 17:37:14 GMT

Can you think of a good question to ask in a travel forum for which you could not find the answer as quickly or quicker using Google? Questions fall into 2 categories. Objective, for which there is a specific correct answer or subjective, for which you can only expect opinions. You could ask, 'does anyone have a favourite hotel in the village of Wiesen, Switzerland?' I could answer, 'yes, I have a favourite and it is the Hotel ... [Posted by OldPro - Jan 19, 09:37]

Joining Travellerspoint

Sat, 07 Jan 2017 01:32:01 GMT

Greetings gentle people. I have a pertinent question for Staff and members. I was a contributor on Virtual Tourist for a number of years, and was quite happy there. Unfortunately the owner of Virtual Tourist, Trip Advisor has seen fit to terminate VT. They fired the staff yesterday and we the members got the notice this morning. We are in a kind of shock at the moment, but VT was a community where members became good friends and we had VT meetings around ... [Posted by Odinnthor - Jan 06, 17:32]

I'm fond and interested in travelling, so my husband and I decided to put up an online travel booking agency. But, I noticed a lot are into same business these days. I wonder, how can we be different from them? I want to know the expectations and the needs of travelers these days. It might help us to leverage. We wish to be on top of the list when a client do searches. How can we do that? ... [Posted by seekandgo - Jan 04, 19:33]

Alright, I know that the two of these places aren't anywhere near each other, but a friend of mine wants to go to either the Maldives, or Costa Rica this summer for his "dirty 30" as he called it. Three of us, all Males, two 23 year olds and one 30 year old. 3-4 day stay at either place. For those of you THAT HAVE BEEN to either one, could you please give me a run down of the pros ... What do you do when your partner hates traveling???

Mon, 12 Dec 2016 22:29:54 GMT

I've been with my partner for 2 years now, and it's always bothered me that he does not like traveling. We're in our 20s; got good education and good jobs (which provides good income and vacation days) - there really aren't many reasons standing in the way of travel for us. And yet, when I met him, he didn't even have a passport and had barely traveled domestically (he was 26+). This shocked me very much at the time, but ... [Posted by wanderluster927 - Dec 12, 14:29]

Recommendations: Traveller's Guide to Cultures

Fri, 09 Dec 2016 18:49:50 GMT

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some recommendations for travel guides focusing on the culture/lifestyle/attitude of different countries around the world - tips, warnings, and advice for travellers visiting many different countries whose cultures they're not necessarily familiar with. For example, how should you greet service workers, is it considered rude to eat in the street, is it inappropriate to be shirtless in the street, what kind of clothes should I wear in certain buildings, are taxis ... First Big Trip

Fri, 09 Dec 2016 07:12:16 GMT

Hey TP'ers, I'm working on a new section for the site, grouping some of our existing content as well as bringing in some fresh content addressing some topics that probably aren't organised neatly enough. I'll call it "Your First Big Trip" with the main goal to help new travellers with their pre-trip decisions and help them feel confident in hitting the road. If you're interested in providing some tips for the article or maybe feel you can really help explain ... [Posted by Peter - Dec 08, 23:12]
