Travel hacking

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 02:30:51 GMT

I'm new here, looking for info on travel hacking for Canadians. Seems much bigger in the US than in Canada. In the US there is boardingarea.com and they do have a Canadian section, but it is very small with only a couple of decent bloggers who seem like advanced travel hackers. I am looking for something more oriented to beginners... in Canada... Thanks! ... [Posted by tricolporate - Sep 24, 18:30]

First time ever doing a solo trip to another country...

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 16:36:27 GMT

Today I randomly decided to book a 10-day trip to Ireland. I live in the U.S. I'm leaving the US on a Sunday and returning on a Thursday (11 days later). All I am going to bring with me is a backpack...I am going to pack extremely light. I'm not sure yet whether I should book just one hostel for my entire 10 nights, of if I should just book the hostel for maybe 2 - 3 nights, as I do intend ... Just Google'd "I'm having second thoughts about going. . ."

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 05:23:46 GMT

. . .on this trip" and was led to this website and the previous thread on the subject. Being 66 y/o, my parents aren't the problem (I wish they *were* still around to complain!). I'm just so tired from working today, haven't slept, and don't think I have enough money this time. My scheduled Uber arrives in an hour and a half, unless I cancel. I've invested right at $1,000 so far in Airbnb, plane tickets, tours, etc. Your thread has ... [Posted by annsplans - Sep 10, 21:23]

Advice for an Introvert wanting to Travel

Fri, 09 Sep 2016 00:21:14 GMT

Hello. I am from the UK. I would love to do something like the work away offers they have on: https://www.workaway.info/ I would like to help out on small farms or nature places especially in countrys such as Norway as I would love to see that kind of nature. It would be fun to get to know other ways of living while helping out around the place. My big problem is that I am quite a shy/peaceful person and I'm anxious ... Planning a trip

Thu, 18 Aug 2016 15:59:21 GMT

Hi Hi, Just a quick one i thought i would throw out there. Wondered what people have found best to do in regards to planning? Is it better to plan everything, like booking flights and places to stay and onwards? Or wing it and just have a rough idea of where to go and book as you go along? Never traveled before and i don't know how easy it is to find accommodation in a foreign country/booking flights? Thanks! ... [Posted by Patsyrose94 - Aug 18, 07:59]

Seeking beta readers: personal development through travel

Tue, 02 Aug 2016 11:51:04 GMT

A couple months ago, I published my first book ever. Brand Identity Breakthrough (http://amzn.to/29qw7o5) quickly became an Amazon bestseller in Public Relations and Small Business, thanks in no small way to the critical feedback of beta readers. Now I am ready to do it all again. I'm putting the finishing touches on the rough draft of my second book now. The topic is self-discovery and personal growth through international travel and pushing personal boundaries. It will in part be a memoir ... [Posted by GregoryDiehl - Aug 02, 03:51]

first trip where should i go?

Mon, 01 Aug 2016 00:13:57 GMT

i have 2 weeks available in February or March. This will be my first trip away from the US so i want it to be memorable. I love the outdoors so not really looking to be in a major city. Things i like to do are hike, snowboard, and cliff jump kind of a thrill seeker. I also love history and seeing beautiful places. Im not looking to spend a whole lot so no fancy hotels i'll spend most of ... [Posted by cgarison22 - Jul 31, 16:13]

do you know a hostel that is innovative?

Mon, 04 Jul 2016 16:14:27 GMT

Hi! After travelling to many places, going from hostel to hostel and even worked at a hostel. I thought it would be interesting to write my master thesis about hostels😊. To get further in the process, I would like to ask the questions: 1. Do you know a hostel that is innovative? 2. And WHY do you think it is innovative? Very curious about the feedback😊! Thanks! ... Advice for working and getting ideas

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 12:15:13 GMT

Greetings! I am a 24 year old guy from Spain, currently living in Madrid. I am studying a master degree in chemistry, almost finishing. I know English and a little bit of Russian. I am so fed up with this way of living, this situation, and this continuous rivalry, always willing to find new and better results from the lab, and trying to step on your peers. That I decided to take a break from chemistry, probably permanent. My ideal plans ... [Posted by Jaime CB - Jun 30, 04:15]

Brexit impact on UK expats and travellers

Sat, 25 Jun 2016 17:04:10 GMT

So the UK is leaving the EU. Well, it's going to be interesting to see how that works out for all the expats from the UK who are living in other EU countries. While I don't expect any EU country to be so uncivilized as to say, you have until the UK officially leaves the EU to prepare to leave our country within 24 hours of the UKs official exit, I also do not expect any EU country to say, if ...
