Arsene Wenger: The Story of Mr Arsenal

Tue, 17 Feb 2009 16:07:15 +0000

BSN Stock Photo

Arsene Wenger may enjoy an illustrious reputation as the most successful manager in Arsenal’s history, but the man himself enjoyed a much more inauspicious playing career before joining the London club in 1996.

Born in Strasbourg, France, Arsene Wenger began playing football for the nearby village football team of FC Duttlenheim before being recruited to play for regional amateur side AS Mutzig. While studying for a Master’s degree in Economics, Wenger played for several amateur football sides before turning professional in 1978, where he played for RC Strasbourg. His career as a professional player was short-lived, however, and upon attaining a manager’s diploma he was appointed coach of the club’s youth team.

The Crazy Transfer Rumours of Real Madrid

Tue, 17 Feb 2009 09:50:58 +0000

(image)

BSN Stock Photo

After being sacked by Tottenham in October 2008 due to a dismal start to the season, Juande Ramos' appointment as Real Madrid manager two months later raised many English eyebrows. Those arched 'brows went higher up the faces of the public the following month when rumours of Ramos' transfer targets came to light.

The days of the Real Madrid galacticos - such as the £38m acquisition of Luis Figo or the £46m signing of Zinedine Zidane - may be a thing of the past, but the reputation surrounding the Spanish club is of such high standing that the players signed must be deemed worthy of playing for one of Europe's elite.

However, after signing Portsmouth's Lassana Diarra for £20m, and with Real Madrid searching for a new right-sided midfielder, Ramos' link to the English game were well documented by the media.

The Funniest Super Bowl Commercials for 2009

Mon, 02 Feb 2009 06:22:55 +0000

(image)

see video below

[Best Syndication News] The 43rd Super Bowl is over and the Pittsburgh Steelers won the game, but which commercials got you to chuckle? I think that there was a few really good ones. I would have to say out of all of them, the funniest one this year was hulu.com’s ad with Alec Baldwin.

They had the pretty girl ads where you could go to the website to get the whole rest of the story. Jack in the Box had an ad were he gets hit by a bus, but they end it there so you have to go to http://www.hangintherejack.com/ to get the update on how he is doing. By far the website is worth a visit and this is what is funny, not so much the ad that was on the Super Bowl.

Car.com had a cute ad with a genius kid that was adorable and fun at the same time.

SuperBowl XLIII Pre-Game Information – Odds of Pittsburg Steelers Over Arizona Cardinals – History of AFC and NFC

Sun, 01 Feb 2009 22:18:16 +0000

(image)

SuperBowl XLIII

(Best Syndication News) Although Las Vegas is picking the Steelers to win Superbowl 43, most Americans now favor the Cardinals. But odds makers don’t pick a team because they are the underdog darling. They look at statistics, teams, before handicapping the game.

Odds and Favorites

Pittsburg will still need to perform to win. They need to rush the passer on defense and run the ball on offense. During the regular season they were able to do that and they are likely to do that on Superbowl Sunday. If the Steelers can not put the pressure on Cardinal quarterback Kurt Warner, expect the QB to get comfortable and start completing passes. Warner is known for sitting in his pocket and finding the gaps in coverage.

As one of the most popular sports on earth, football has been keeping millions of people entertained across the globe for the best part of a century now. However, it has actually existed in some shape or form since as far back as the third century; the ancient game of Cuju – literally ‘Kick Ball’ - was played throughout many parts of Asia.

Indeed, the sport has existed in various forms throughout the centuries, but it wasn’t until 1863 when the English Football Association (FA) was formed, that the precise rules of play were ratified and now – over a century and a half later – the sport continues to go from strength to strength across the globe.

A Candid Interview With Rudolph (The Red-nosed Reindeer)

Fri, 19 Dec 2008 17:05:41 +0000

(image)

Best Syndication News

Yes, we are talking about the same Rudolph. Maybe you’ve not met him but you know “His-story.” However before now he had not told “His-story,” because as he put it, “history” had distorted it, and no one would listen to him. Fortunately I got the opportunity to sit down and have a candid conversation with Rudolph – The Red-nosed Reindeer.

The story as we know it has been summed up in a Christmas Carol which we all know and love. We sing it with our kids, we sing it when we trounce through the snow caroling in our neighborhoods. It makes us feel good, makes us appreciate the season and makes us root for the underdog or under-deer in this case.

So how about if we get started!

Tony: Hello Rudolph it is an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to finally visit with you. I have only a few questions and would like to jump right in.
