Radiohead star drums up support for Oxford's under-threat Cellar club

FAMOUS rock star from Oxford band Radiohead has backed the campaign to save threatened city gig venue The Cellar. Since news of the proposal was broken by the Oxford Mail, artists and fans of the subterranean club, in Frewin Court, off Cornmarket, have thrown themselves into supporting it.

Veteran Russian rock musician Andrei Makarevich has accused British rock band Radiohead of "ripping off" its new music video from a 16-year-old clip by his band Mashina Vremeni . But Makarevich, a poet and singer-songwriter famous in Russia since the Soviet period, then told RFE/RL that while there were "more than obvious" similarities, he was not taking legal action and was unsure whether the perceived parallels constituted intellectual property theft.

Zimmer and the band have worked together on recording an orchestrally re-imagined version of Radiohead's song Bloom, which originally featured on their 2011 album The King Of Limbs.
