An armed suspect led police from several agencies on a chase that began in Battle Creek and ended with a crash in Emmett Township mid-afternoon Sunday. Officers initially responded to a report of shots fired inside a home in the 200 block of Riverside Drive that came in at 3 pm, only to learn that the suspect had already driven away.

We don't know what drove a Battle Creek man to this but he has reportedly broke into a unit at Teal Run Apartments and attacked a woman with a three foot sword. It happed at about 2:45 a.m. Friday on the Cereal City's south side.

Police in Battle Creek say a man is in custody for allegedly stabbing the mother of his child with a three-foot sword. Their 13-year-old child tells police that his dad broke into his mother's apartment, in the 5200 block of Skyview Lane, around 2:43 a.m. Friday and attacked his mom.
