The concert takes place Thursday, October 20th, at 7:00pm in the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center on the University campus.

A 25-year-old Battle Creek woman has been charged with child neglect after she allegedly left her two toddlers unattended in a Beckley Road motel room for hours Monday Night. The situation became a police matter when one of the customers at the motel found a 4-year-old wandering around the parking lot crying for her mother.

A Battle Creek firefighter is recovering from bumps and bruises he suffered while battling a fire at a house at 45 Magnolia Street late yesterday afternoon. They say it appears to have started and was largely confined to the area of the home where the kitchen and laundry room are located.

All but one member of Michigan's congressional delegation have sent a letter of support to the Missile Defense Agency to show their support of the proposed new missile site. Both Republican and Democratic members of the U.S. House and Senate sent Vice Admiral James D. Syring, director of the Missile Defense Agency, a letter urging his agency to select Fort Custer as the new missile site.

Josh Gibson fired a 2-under-par 70 at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek to lead the Hope College men's golf team to victory in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree for the second time this season. Homeowners could face bills to eliminate arsenic from water

About 150 homeowners near Battle Creek may need to come up with thousands of dollars to eliminate elevated levels of arsenic from their well water. The Battle Creek Enquirer reports each affected homeowners in Calhoun County's Emmett Township could see an estimated $19,000 bill for connection costs to Battle Creek's water system or $26,000 if road improvements are added.
