Catch a rising star of tomorrow! The York Theatre Company , dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, continues its education programming with the 2017 Summer Intensive Musical Theatre Training Program Showcase, featuring middle and high school students in a special one-night only performance on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's . The three-week summer program began July 10, 2017 and culminates with a special showcase performance that is FREE and open to the public.

Coroner IDs river, lake drowning victims

The Mesa County Coroner's Office has identified the body found in the Colorado River last Friday as being Derek McBee, 45, of Grand Junction. Autopsy results showed McBee did not have any injuries that would have contributed to his death.

Richard H. Wise, a 2015 graduate of Grand Junction High School, was named to the spring 2017 semester dean's honor roll at the University of Wyoming. Fruita Monument High School student Nate Williams completed the first month of his CareerWise Colorado apprenticeship with Hoptocopter Films, following a career path in technology.
