Psychologists say Bloomingdale rapist Kendrick Morris could live safely in society again

Kendrick Morris is a man of above average intelligence who regrets his teen crimes and is capable of living safely in society, two defense psychologists told a judge Thursday. The two testified at a resentencing hearing for Morris, 25, who is serving a 65-year sentence for two brutal rapes in east Hillsborough County.

BayCare's involves residents in plans for wellness campus

BayCare Health System plans to build its first wellness campus in the Brandon/Valrico community, and it's allowing some residents to have a voice in those plans. BayCare, Tampa Bay's largest health care provider with a network of 14 hospitals and more than 160 outpatient facilities, will situate the center near the intersection of Bloomingdale Avenue and Lithia Pinecrest Road.

While addressing a number of changes for the coming year, the small group of regular attendees gathered last month at the station, 3622 Erindale Dr., in Valrico, also welcomed HCSO Deputy James Brodie as the community's new full time resource deputy.

The Greater Brandon Area students in grades 2 to 5 put their math skills on display, earning money for local schools and winning prizes for themselves in the Mathnasium of Brandon 2016 TriMathlon math competition. By participating in the event, Mathnasium TriMathlon contestants nationwide raised a total of $35,000 to benefit schools across the country.
