Discover Different Cultures Through HEARD's Performance Of 'PLACE'

Do you dream of traveling the world and experiencing different cultures? This Sunday, October 23, at the Charles R. Wood Theater, you'll have a chance to go on a musical and visual journey around the globe through "PLACE," a one-of-a-kind performance by HEARD that will benefit the World Awareness Children's Museum in Glens Falls. "PLACE" is a unique concert program featuring a mixture of original music, narratives, and photographs that will transport the audience to different places around the world.

Temperatures reached the upper 70s and lower 80s in Central New York, but did we break records for October 18th? Utica tied the 1963 record of 82 degrees. Syracuse was 1 degree short of the 1947 record of 83. Binghamtom, Albany, Poughkeepsie and Glens Falls all saw the warmest day on record according to the National Weather Service .

NY-21 debate moderator donated to Stefanik campaign

The moderator of a Monday 21st Congressional District debate has donated $650 to Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik over the past two election cycles, campaign cash which drew a rebuke from Democrat Mike Derrick's campaign ahead of the nighttime forum. Edward Bartholomew Jr., president of the Warren County Economic Development Corporation and a former Glens Falls mayor, donated $400 to Stefanik's current campaign at the end of 2015, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

Upstate NY woman charged with DWI in van crash

A 24-year-old upstate New York woman who was driving a van for a company that provides services for people with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries is facing several charges after crashing the van into two vehicles while driving drunk with two clients inside her vehicle. The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports that Brianna Norton, of Queensbury, is charged with driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a mentally incompetent person, failure to keep right, and having an open container in a motor vehicle.

Northampton Supervisor James Groff read a proclamation - signed by board Chairman Charles Potter - noting the county joins with all citizens to support victims of domestic violence.
