Teen Gets Prison Time For Fatal Car Crash In Saratoga County

A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to 5-to-15 years in prison for a crash that killed a 16-year-old boy in Saratoga County. Christopher Miranda of Hudson Falls pleaded guilty to manslaughter and vehicular assault for the early morning crash last August in Moreau.




Can $10M change the game for the North Country's small downtowns?

Small cities across New York have been competing for $10-million state grants to jump start improvements to their struggling downtowns. So far in the North Country, plans entered by Watertown, Plattsburgh, and Glens Falls have won grants under the two-year-old Downtown Revitalization Initiative, or DRI.

Wilton man charged with several drug felonies

A Wilton man was charged with four felonies in connection to a crack cocaine investigation in Glens Falls, deputies said. Warren County Sheriff deputies charged Jon-Michael Carpenter, 32, with two counts each of criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

A kindergarten teacher in Granville was charged with driving while intoxicated after she arrived at school drunk on Tuesday, according to the Post-Star of Glens Falls. The newspaper reports that a school resource officer smelled alcohol on Kimberly V. Grover, 47, of Fort Edward.




Glens Falls woman accused of driving with heroin in system

A 32-year-old was charged with driving with ability impaired by drugs after a traffic stop in Queensbury early Monday, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said they stopped Kaitlin R. Belden's Volkswagen sedan on Main Street for an undisclosed traffic offense.
