The University of Iowa department of Facilities Management is seeking a Custodial Training Specialist.  This role is responsible for planning, developing, conducting, evaluating and reviewing the training program for the Custodial Services organization.  Duties include planning and developing training techniques and programs for custodial staff that ensure customer needs and University standards are consistently met.  This newly created position will orient and train new/transferring employees regarding department cleaning methods and applicable policies and procedures.



Facilities Management (FM) is a service unit of approximately 750 employees, including a large unionized workforce, who work behind the scenes, 24 hours a day, serving the University of Iowa as stewards of our beautiful Iowa City campus.   FM staff coordinate campus master planning, manage design & construction, maintain & clean the buildings &the grounds, and provide utilities management.

The University of Iowa department of Facilities Management seeks a Director, Building & Landscape Services (BLS) to lead the organization toward a vision of a highly reliable, customer-oriented and collaborative organization with a focus on effective and efficient operation, servicing and stewardship of campus buildings and grounds.  This position is responsible for planning and leading long-range programs for the effective stewardship of general education fund (GEF) buildings and facilities, including custodial care of GEF facilities, optimal operation of building mechanical and electrical systems, energy efficiency, ADA accessibility/compliance issues, life safety and code compliance, repair and replacement of building components, proper preventive maintenance practices, predictive maintenance, continual building assessment program, and execution of strategic investments in renewal and capital projects.  BLS is a service organization of 470 FTE, with an operating budget of more than $45 million, providing services within over 12 million serviceable square feet of campus research, teaching, assembly, library and office space, and 860 acres of maintainable landscape zones across three campus areas with 200 acres being intensely maintained urban campus.  With a total campus area of roughly 16 million square feet, over 200 buildings and spanning 1900 acres, this position is a champion for staff who work behind the scenes, serving the University of Iowa as stewards of our beautiful Iowa City campus.
