(image) Last year, we brought you news of an automated valet parking system that would allow visitors to the Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart to have their cars drop them off and then go park itself autonomously. Now, one of Daimler's German rivals plans to offer similar capabilities. Volkswagen Group, which includes Porsche and Audi, is currently testing autonomous parking at the Hamburg Airport, with plans to put the technology into consumer vehicles beginning in 2020.

Audi R8 RWS a compelling bargain at $139,950

Sun, 15 Apr 2018 11:20:00 EDT

(image) The Audi RWS (Rear Wheel Series) bundles two large surprises in its compact aluminum frame. The first surprise is that it exists at all, this being the first rear-wheel drive production Audi since the 1938 Audi 920 - long before Audi was the carmaker we now know. The second surprise is the price, the R8 RWS needing just $139,950 to take home, a figure that includes destination. Stripping Quatto, complexity, and weight means stripping $26,200 from the price of the standard R8, while retaining eve

Latest Audi A6 Avant is a lovely piece of forbidden fruit

Tue, 10 Apr 2018 19:30:00 EDT

(image) We'd love to tell you that the pretty blue wagon just above is coming soon to the United States, but we can't. Because the next-generation Audi A6 Avant probably isn't coming to the United States at all. Here in the States we get the seductively attractive A5 and S5 Sportback, and the swoopy A7, S7, and RS 7 hatchbacks instead of the traditional A6 wagon. We're not going to complain (much), because we do love the aforementioned Audis, but we'll still grumble just a little bit over the lost pract

Audi TT RS spied lapping the 'Ring with updated bodywork

(image) We love the 2018 Audi TT RS. We love its 400 horsepower turbocharged inline-five, its seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and its clean, driver-focused interior. Still, there's always room for improvement and refinement. It seems Audi agrees, as a refreshed version of Audi's hottest little coupe was spotted lapping the Nürburgring with some updated bodywork.

2019 Audi S6 Avant wagon spied showing off its sleek new lines

Tue, 03 Apr 2018 11:35:00 EDT

(image) There's something really wonderful about performance wagons. Just this past week, we've had a 2018 Volvo V90, 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake and a 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo pass through Fort Autoblog. While these are all wonderful in their own way, Americans still miss out on some really good stuff from Europe, like the new 2019 Audi S6 Avant we see here in camouflaged garb.

Audi RS5 Sportback turns up the torque

Tue, 27 Mar 2018 19:30:00 EDT

(image) In Autoblog's first drive review of the new Audi RS5, published a month ago, we eagerly asked Audi's RS5 project manager about the anticipated RS5 Sportback joining the 444-horsepower twin turbo coupe. Now, at the New York Auto Show, Audi is pulling the wraps off the Sportback. Even if the similarly powered RS4 wagon isn't available in the U.S, sometimes you do get what you want.

2018 Audi S5 Sportback Drivers' Notes Review | Pretty, practical, powerful

Fri, 23 Mar 2018 10:00:00 EDT

(image) Audi recently expanded its A4/A5 lineup with the A5 Sportback, continuing the trend of German automakers adding coupe-like four-door cars, and also finally giving the A7 a little brother. And of course because the traditional coupe and sedan versions have S variants, Audi created an S5 Sportback. It features the same turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 as the S4 sedan and S5 coupe with the same 354 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. And despite being bigger than the S5 coupe, the S5 Sportback is jus

Maybe there won't be an Audi R8 V6 after all

Thu, 22 Mar 2018 13:40:00 EDT

(image) Will they, won't they? Those are the questions we have to ask about the supposedly forthcoming Audi R8 V6. Road & Track writes that an Audi spokesperson told the mag, "There is no V6 planned for the R8." However, if that's true, then reports over the last 72 hours in other publications are misinformed and possibly hallucinating. Or else there's some key piece of information we haven't received yet to make sense of it all.

Audi takes V2I Traffic Light Information system to Washington, D.C.

Mon, 19 Mar 2018 09:00:00 EDT

(image) Audi announced Washington, D.C., as the seventh U.S. metropolitan area for the rollout of its Traffic Light Information (TLI) system. When a driver in a TLI-equipped Audi stops at a red light, the vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) technology pulls stoplight data from Traffic Technology Services servers to let the driver know when the light will turn green. A countdown timer appears in the dash cluster, and in the heads-up display if the vehicle has one. More than 600 D.C. intersections work with T

Audi A8 last to run with the W12 engine

Mon, 19 Mar 2018 08:10:00 EDT

(image) After 17 years on the market, Audi has sounded the death knell on the A8 W12. Audi R&D honcho Peter Mertens — the same exec who suggested the end of the R8 — told Car and Driver at the Geneva Motor Show that the new 2019 A8 "is going to be the last installation" of the 6.0-liter 12-cylinder. That won't affect our market since the Audi retired the W12 here after 2017, and the engine won't reappear in the 2019 model. Our top end will be the A8 60 with a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 mak

But it seems like we're still going to have plenty of time with the current generation, and Audi isn't going to just let it sit. As the spy photos above show, the company is working on an updated version of the current model.
