(image) Digital Trends interviewed Porsche GT-car boss Andreas Preuninger, and asked whether the lightweighting Weissach Package could find its way to non-RS cars. Preuninger might have loosed at least a few worms from the proverbial can when he told the site, "I won't rule out some lightweight package will find its way to other model lines in the future." Even though Preuninger added, "We have nothing planned yet, we're very busy; don't expect to see the Cayenne Weissach next month," the opening will h

Fri, 20 Apr 2018 11:25:00 EDT

(image) With the manual transmission becoming less common as time goes on, there are fewer opportunities to learn how to use it and subsequently order a car with one. In response to this, Honda hosted an experience in the Los Angeles area near Angeles Crest Highway called "Shifting Gears." There Honda brought out a bunch of its own manual-equipped cars to teach people how to use a manual transmission.

(image) The U.S. Senate on Wednesday invalidated Obama-era guidance aimed at preventing auto lenders from charging borrowers higher rates based on factors such as race or national origin. The Senate voted 51 to 47 to disapprove the guidance, which was issued in 2013 by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and regarded by critics as an overstep of the agency's powers.

(image) These recently released Swedish videos serve as a reminder that rust isn't just a cosmetic flaw, when it comes to cars. The insurance company Folksam and the homeowner organization Villaägarnas Riksförbund gathered examples of two relatively popular, but by now rusty cars, and then performed crash tests with them at the Thatcham Research facility in Britain. The results are sobering. .embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width:

What does this have to do with automobiles, you might ask? Well, a 23-year-old Florida woman named Katie Samuels has such fond memories of eating the confection as a child that she offered her car in exchange for wholesaler Candystore.com's remaining stoc

New Orleans resident keeps getting speeding tickets for his parked car

New Orleans resident Donald Schultz provides the latest example of municipal malfeasance: A speed camera has issued at least ten speeding citations since 2011 to the Nissan Frontier that Schultz parks in front of his house. A car doing more than the posted 35-mph limit triggers the camera, located in the median of Canal Boulevard, but the camera reads the stationary Frontier's license plate i

(image) It's been 70 long years since the original Land Rover was introduced at the 1948 Amsterdam Motor Show. The story goes that the boxy shape was drawn in the sand of Red Wharf Bay by Rover's engineering director Maurice Wilks. Now, that figure has been stomped on the snow of the French Alps, as an artist specializing on snow art has created a 820-foot Defender shape at La Plagne.
