Cleaning and ATV shouldn't really go together in the same sentance - one is really really fun, and the other is just....well.....not fun. But with one comes the other if you want to keep your ATV working and looking as good as possible, and we wanted to share with our readers some of the tips we have learned over the years for cleaning a dirty quad - via Tips For Cleaning Your ATV.
It seems that every year, or even every 6 months or so, the ATV manufacturers are releasing a new quad - whether it be a sport machine or pure utility. We will be taking a look at the "Big 5" ATV manufacturers and their quad offerings over the next several months, and to start things off, we have chosen to showcase Yamaha Motor Corp's sport quad stable. With machines such as the Raptor 700 and the YFZ450R, we figured this would be a good place to start.... via 2013-2014 Yamaha Sport ATV Buyer's Guide
It's that time of year in my state, and almost that time of year in other parts of the country - it's time to start thinking about being safe on your summertime ATV and UTV rides. Summers here in Arizona can be rediculously hot - any time you go on a ride during the day, there is potential of a fun trip turning into something much worse unless you are properly prepared to survive the summer heat should anything go wrong. We compiled a short list of safety tips just for summer via Summer Riding Tips.
It's pretty rare that anyone goes out on an ATV or UTV ride these days without attaching some type of action camera to their vehicle or helmet - no one wants to miss anything exciting, and fortunately for us there are plenty of brands and types of action cameras to choose from! Garmin doesn't just do GPS anymore, and their VIRB Elite is packed full of features, yet is fun and easy to use for just about anyone - via Garmin's VIRB Elite HD Actiona Camera
There is no question in anyone's mind that the UTV industry is blowing up. It began with the Yamaha Rhino back in 2004, and it's been a powersports movement ever since - it's this editor's opinion that it won't be long before UTV's far outnumber ATVs in sales and popularity, and with that growth is an ever expanding accessories market, which (of course) includes tires. We recently had the pleasure of spending some time in Prescott, AZ with Garmin and some of the products they have been producing that can definitely be used by many ATV / UTV enthusiasts. One of these great new products is Garmin's tactix tactical training GPS watch - and we were able to spend a couple of days familiarizing ourselves with it, and basically just scratching the surface of what this product can do. Check out some more information and our thoughts on the tactix via tactix - Garmin's Tactical Training GPS Watch.
We were able to spend some quality time with Yamaha and their awesome looking, tactical black version of the 2014 Grizzly 700 in Prescott last week. Not only did Yamaha bring out some of their ATV/UTV models for us to test, but they also partnered up with Ruger and Garmin, making it a week of riding, shooting, and tracking at Gunsite Academy that will be hard to forget! We enjoyed the opportunity to get to know the Grizzly 700 a bit better, and thought we'd share our thoughts via 2014 Yamaha Grizzly 700 FI EPS Special Edition Review
I had never ridden anything with a motor (my car doesn't count) before I bought my first ATV at 29 years of age. I had no idea where to ride, so I did what anyone would do - I "googled" where to ride in my area, and several motocross tracks came up. I did a little more research, found a track that actually allowed quads, and off I went! Before I left the track that first day of riding, I had already decided I wanted to race my quad. And that is how it all began for me.....
Now, not everyone who rides a quad wants to race it, but for those of you out there who are like me, and feel you want to try your hand at racing your ATV, but might not know exactly where to start, we have come up with a basic guide to the types of ATV racing available. Its up to you to decide what looks like the most fun, or the best fit for you - but for now, here are some general ATV racing diciplines to check out - via ATV Racing - What kind of Racing is Available?
Yamaha Motor Corp. pretty much started the entire UTV (SxS) shift into popularity back in 2004 with their introduction of the Yamaha Rhino 660. Designed as a utility vehicle to do work and provide hunters with a way to get in and out of the woods, the powersports consumers gobbled the Rhino up as a versatile and fun trail and dune machine. The Rhino basically started a UTV revolution, and now here we are - 2014 - and the SxS market is booming and threatening to overtake even the ever-popular ATV segment.
After taking a few years to fight some very important court battles (which they won), Yamaha is back and heading into the UTV market that they had previously dominated. The 2014 Yamaha Viking FI 4x4 is Yamaha's first of several new UTV models that have been promised, and it is aimed squarely at the true utility segment of the market. We got the chance to spend a few days with the new Viking, and here are our thoughts via 2014 Yamaha Viking Review.
You have owned ATVs for a while now......and you just bought your first UTV. Can you wear the same stuff to drive your new Side-by-Side that you already own for riding quads? While UTVs and ATVs are certainly similar, there are a few big differences, and as a result, sometimes what works well for riding your quad might not be the best choice for piloting your "family wagon".
