What an Olympics!

(image) The Olympics have come and gone, and they were crazy.

The snowboarding events were more dramatic than any in recent history. There was controversy about the snowboarding courses, some huge upsets, new events, amazing competition, and one of the most exciting moments in Olympic snowboarding when Iouri "I-Pod" Podladtchikov stole the men's half pipe gold from Shaun White (who had won the event in the previous two Olympics) largely because of his excellent execution of his signature trick: the yolo flip.

(image) When most people see those first sprinkles of snow signifying winter is on the way, they reach for their boots, dust off their snow blowers and start complaining.


For snowboarders, that first snowstorm may very well be the best one of the year. It's the one that makes us grab our snowboard tool, run to the garage and begin preparing our board for the season.
