Lawrence Dallaglio thinks Nathan Hughes is on a mission
NATHAN Hughes will be a man on a mission this weekend against Scotland, with World Cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio predicting the Wasps No.8 will be a one man wrecking ball at Murrayfield.  The England No.8 damaged medial ligaments in his knee whilst playing for Wasps against La Rochelle back in December but is expected to play in the 125th edition of the Calcutta Cup on Saturday at Murrayfield.

England U20s Team to face Scotland
England U20s head coach Steve Bates has named his team to face Scotland on Friday in Edinburgh at Myreside (7.30pm KO).Three players will win their first cap, while Beck Cutting and Sean Reffell could do so off the bench in England’s third game of the U20 Six Nations.

Harlequins vs Leicester: A tiger by the tail
Two things (of many) you don't do with a tiger, poke it in the eye or grab it by the tail! I thought we did both of these in our visit to Welford Road. We had the temerity to score the first try and then we had the tiger by the tail until we let go somewhere after the 60th minute! This was my first visit to Welford Road, and it was great place to visit. Nice beer, good food and friendly natives and a lovely stadium. I looked with envy and the terrace over on my left!

Player Survey: Harlequins vs Leicester
Well this wasn't all doom and gloom, we were still in the game at half time. Unfortunately I suspect the final score is going to affect the voting scores! :-)

Player Survey Results: Harlequins vs Wasps
Well, a match I'd rather forget than be publishing stuff about. Not many redeeming features there. Poor Dave lewis gets a score which will remain a record for some time to come, I feel.

View from the south stand: Sale 3 Saracens 13
We’re at the sparse end of the season, where we get about one game a month if we’re lucky. Saracens were February’s visitors: a tough match by anyone’s standards. Sarries had their England contingent missing, which should have evened things up a bit, but Sale had problems of their own, with no specialist fly half.

Match Thread: Wolves vs Norwich City
Wolves face Norwich City tonight at Molineux hoping to further extend their lead at the top of the Championship

No UberT20 at Taunton
Well its not a surprise, we knew this one well in advance but it has been interesting watching the suprise of others who it seems weren't aware of this strange decision to remove 'premier' short form cricket from the South West, unless, as some have, you try and say Southampton and Cardiff are in the region!!  Here's the club's response.

Decent Effort, Mediocre Result
Chelsea's prospects of progressing through to the last eight of the Champions League were left hanging by a thread, after a characteristically dramatic home encounter against perennial foes, Barcelona. A draw in the end probably flattered the visitors. They had the lion share of possession but really didn't put Tibo Courtois to any trouble. However, a lapse from an otherwise outstanding Chelsea defence was cruelly punished, as Lionel Messi belatedly opened his goals account against the Blues, after years of frustration. Perhaps Courtois committed himself too early, leaving Messi with the task of slotting home from a narrower angle, but it's hard to blame the goalkeeper. He was commanding from their corner kicks and was totally untroubled, courtesy of a well-marshalled home rearguard.

Next Up: Bromley (H)
A look ahead to Rovers' home game against Bromley on Saturday afternoon....

Hull Humbled
The champions of England made very light work of overcoming Hull, thereby earning themselves a considerably trickier sixth round assignment at Leicester City. Willian helped himself to a well-taken brace, with fine shots from each foot. This has taken his goals tally to a healthy double figures. Meanwhile Pedro recorded his fifth goal of the season, courtesy of an excellent assist from Cesc Fabregas. Best of all, new recruit Olivier Giroud slotted home his first goal for his new employer from close range. Finally Willy Caballero cemented his reputation as an excellent penalty saver, by defying a second half spot kick. I'm not sure however that the visiting Barcelona will capitulate so easily this forthcoming Tuesday.

Match Thread: Preston North End vs Wolves
Wolves travel to Preston for a big match with a team still aiming  for a top six place.

Williams 2018 season launch just a day away
Tomorrow, 15th February, will see the Williams Martini team launch their 2018 season at an event in London. As to whether this will be a launch of the teams 2018 challenger the FW41 or simply a launch of the 2018 livery seems to be a point of discussion with various F1 web sites having it as a launch of the FW41 while has it only as a launch of the 2018 livery. Either way it will see the Williams team start what will hopefully be a positive season for them.

Indian Women Show Men The Way
Before Virat Kohli and his men sealed the ODI series against South Africa 4-1, the Indian women had sealed their series against the Lady Proteas' 2-1 in similar emphatic manner with Smriti Mandhana scoring a classy 135 and fifties from Harmanpreet Kaur and Veda Krishnamurthy followed by a familiar trial by spin.

India Retain No. 1 Test Ranking for 2nd Year in a Row
India retain their No. 1 Test ranking for a second year in a row after their magnificent win on a trechearous Johannesburg wicket, where first they gutsed it out with the bat and then blew away the home team with their fiery fast bowling.

Best Indian Bowling Unit Ever?
One of the things to note is that India have bowled out South Africa 5 times in 5 innings in the Tests in South Africa so far, and if their batsmen can apply themselves and give the bowlers a decent total to defend in the 4th innings in Johannesburg they could do it for a sixth time and in the process help India win the match.  This contrasts with the serious lack of quality spinners that South Africa the current No. 2 Test side has, no disrespect to Keshav Maharaj.  India on the other hand have two of the BEST spinners in the world in the two Ravis: Ashwin and Jadeja, supported by a plethora of classy back ups such as Amit Mishra, Kuldip Yadav, Yuzuvendra Chahal, etc.  And they also have a phalanx of fast men who are comparable to any fast bowling unit in the world.  The Indian bowling coach B. Arun explains how this came about.

Williams Martini Confirms Sirotkin for 2018
Williams Martini Racing announced that Sergey Sirotkin will partner Lance Stroll in the 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship. 2018 Williams to be more aggressive
With the start of the 2018 Formula One season only a few months away discussions are moving to the 2018 cars. In particular comments have come from ex Williams driver Felipe Massa in regard to the 2018 Williams car. Felipe has spoken as to the car been more aggressive and looks a lot different than the 2017 Williams. On the driver front reports still have Russian Sergey Sirotkin in the 2018 Williams.

Williams Martini 2017 Season Review
Well it's that time to look back at the Williams Martini teams 2017 season, a difficult and ultimately disappointing one. The team would finish in fifth place in the Constructors having dropped from third. It was a year that saw not only the 2017 FW40 fail to deliver but overall neither team driver, Felipe Massa and Lance Stroll, would have a season that really would be remembered. The only real highlight was the third placed finish from Stroll in Azerbaijan combined with his second place qualifying in Italy. Apart from that the Williams team really failed to deliver and this showed in that their main midfield rival Force India would finish their 2017 well ahead.

Abu Dhabi GP: Single point for Massa in his last race
The 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix would see the Williams Martini team come away with a single point courtesy of a 10th places finish from Felipe Massa. A great result for Felipe was his Formula One career comes to an end. For team-mate Lance Stroll his race was far more difficult not been able to get the best from his car and been forced to pit three times. Williams would be able to finish their season in fifth in the Constructors championship after what was overall a difficult season. Felipe would come on his radio and thank his team and would complete some donuts in his FW40 to celebrate his career in Formula One.
