Thu, 12 Apr 2007 11:30:02 +0200WWF Denmark WWF Verdensnaturfonden is the Danish division of World Wide Fund for Nature. It is a private & independent organization with offices all over the world. WWF in Denmark was founded in 1972, initiated by HRH The Prince Consort of Denmark and a group of Danish scientists. Prince Henrik has since the foundation been President of WWF Denmark. WWF Denmark has undergone the same development as the rest of the WWF network, - broadening the conservation perspective from mainly saving endangered species of animals and plants to biological diversity as a whole, sustainable use of nature and natural resources, and globalwarming awareness2007 environmental issues, e.g. climate change. WWF's work is always scientifically based, and our methods are dialogue oriented - be it with business and industry, authorities, governments and other decisionmakers in society, private individuals, other NGOs etc. At the moment, the Danish WWF office has 30 employees, and our activities under the umbrella of the international mission and strategic priorities of the WWF network as a whole comprise: Fisheries Fishing has the biggest and most direct influence on marine areas. Thus, fishing practices as well as fishing quantitites are of decisive importance to animal life in our seas. So it is a WWF priority to secure enough fish, maintain a high degree of biological diversity in the seas, and make sure that fishing is carried out in a sustainable way - both socio-economically and ecologically. Illegal logging Illegal and destructive logging is a threat to many forests of the world. Not only to the tropical rainforests, but also to the great natural forests in temperated regions. Denmark is in a way part of the problem as we import large quantities of wood deriving from illegal logging. WWF Denmark is working through an international WWF-campaign to make the Danish government and politicians nationally and at EU-level aware of the importance of stopping the import of illegally logged wood. Partnerships WWF has a long tradition of entering into partnerships with business and industry. The purpose of such partnerships is to involve also companies in making their contribution to a global sustainable development. To overcome the environmental challenges today, they must be met by not only official authorities, organizations etc. but by all good forces in conjunction. WWF is working to make companies commit to take into account environmental and social responsibility schemes in their company management practices. Trade in endangered animals and plants Despite the international ‘Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora’ (CITES - also known as the Washington Convention), trade in endangered animals and plants is a worldwide threat. The great demand from – often ignorant - tourists forms a major part of this problem, and therefore WWF is running a campaign to improve consciousness and awareness of the issue among tourists, particularly people visiting Thailand. Climate change Man-made climate changes are one of the largest global environmental problems today. The implications for nature, people and economies are indeed serious. Most scientists agree that we humans contribute extraordinarily to global warming, mainly by burning fossil fuels such as oil, coal and gas, which emit carbon dioxide (CO2) - the main global warming, or greenhouse gas. To prevent a disastrous climate change, we have to replace the era of fossil fuels with an era of renewable energy sources and efficient energy consumption. WWF Denmark works to keep the Danish government to fulfil its obligations under the Kyoto Protocol on Climate Change by taking the lead in reducing Danish CO2-emissions. In addition, we cooperate with relevant and visionary parts of business and industry. Management of Danish nature WWF finds that even in a small, agricultural country like Denmark, room should be made for a nature which can unfold and expand its own dynamics and processes freely. Therefore, WWF Denma[...]

When talking about the emissions of greenhouse gases it is referred as the definition used to characterize a pool of different chemical gases:
Reported at the Climate Convention in Kyoto 1997
Greenhouse gas emissions from human activities contribute to radical climate changes and globalwarming. Main factors here are: industry, energy, transportation and related sectors.
The gases mentioned have various impacts, but CO2 is known by most as the "responsible" gas for the climate changes we see. We know this from normal use of fossil fuels. A factor that most don't know or think of, is the impact deforestation have on the.
Gases like CH4 and N2O is commonly known to come from agricultural production.

(image) To try and explain it in short; Globalwarming is a phenomenon we see happened when the average temperature of our Earths oceans and atmosphere increase.
In the 4.55 billion years our Earth have existed, there have been constant waves of heating and cooling of the Earth, but after the rise of the homo sapiens and lately our heavy industrialization through out the planet, WE have made an impact on the "natural" cycle, which means we got a Global rapid increasing problem on our hands.
Read our latest Environmental News on GlobalWarming Awareness2007.
The main impact from us are the burning of fossil fuels , like coal - oil - natural gases and releasing them into our own atmosphere creating global emissions of greenhouse gases like Carbon Dioxide (CO2).
At the same time we release all these gases, we deforest our planet at a rapid pace.
Some even state that deforestation that causes drought and may be an even bigger contributer to globalwarming than the rise of Carbon Dioxide.
We need GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and this is my contribution to do this.
I have always has an interest in our environment and the SEO contest, called "SEO World Championship 2007" gave me the final push to do something about it. This way I can combine 2 things I love.
- Contribute to improve our environment
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
By "Contribute to improve" I mean the chance to inform people about this global problem of ours, and I might reach someone who wouldn't have been reached, if I didn't make this page. Who knows? :)

(image) The quick way to explain fossil fuel is to imagine decomposed animal and plant materials that have converted to coal, oil and natural gases through millions of years inside the earths crust.
The fact that it takes millions of years to form fossil fuels, it is a energy source that is called non-renewable (in a human timeline)
Fossil fuels have with the Industrial Revolution in the 19. Century been burnt of so quickly and is depleting so fast because it is an excellent, some say the best energy source we have. It has tremendous abilities.
(image) Coal is a hard material formed into layers upon layers of decayed animal and plant parts, and then heated over inside the earths crust to gain the composition as we know it today.
Coal is widespread through the entire world, and it is easy to excavate it through underground mines.
Fuel oil is a liquid material, and originates from what we know as crude oil / petroleum through distillation.
The crude oil has developed through the decomposed remains of marine micro organisms on the sea floor. As coal, the oil took several millions of years to develop through small spaces underground trapped inside rocklike sediments.
The main product we got from crude oil is the fuel oil, that we all know used in cars, planes, rockets..
Depending on the refining process the crude oil delivers many distillates or residues that we see in our world today. Think of the roads, roofs, plastic. They all contain some degree of crude oils.
(image) Natural gas is formed much like the crude oil, trapped inside pockets underground. This kind of fossil fuel is the "cleanest" when burnt and released into the atmosphere. Often known natural gas is methane.
2 major disadvantages of the fossil fuels today is the amount of it in our underground - we are facing a total depletion.
The other reason is the environmental problem that follows when you burn the fossil fuels and release the gases into the atmosphere. There are clear facts pointing at fossil fuel structures as sulphur and nitrogen are found in the pollutants that is being released into the air. Thereby contributing to the greenhouse gas, air pollution, water pollution.
The biggest sinner is said to be the carbon dioxide that we emit mainly by coal combustion. And yet today coal is the cheapest ways of energy on the market. Globalwarming awareness2007 is needed to find alternative energy sources to the same cost or cheaper.

My name is Claus Heinrich, and today I work mainly with different kinds of web development projects, and have an interest in Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I'm no wizard at this, but like to work with it and explore the possibilities in SEO.
While I have a keen interest in SEO, I have an education from the chemical industry and have worked in several laboratories in Denmark. Actually finalized my education at the National Environmental Research Institute in Denmark (DMU), with time in the Department of Atmospheric Environment (ATMI).
So the day came where SEO Championship 2007 released the keywords to be used. And what a pleasant surprise. Rank highest in all 3 major search engines for the term:
2 of my favourite subject in 1 :) - No way I could resist to give this a try!
I think its is REALLY great they choose a keyword combination like this, as it will not only help find the great SEO experts in the World, but at the same time set focus / awareness on a major problem we got these days. GLOBAL WARMING !
I hope this webpage will contribute to set some attention to this subject, as something has to be done about it. We are the cause of overheating and we need to do an effort to reduce it.
This page will expand with more information on the subject, as I get the time to fill unique content in.

This is an international treaty that has been signed in 1997 in Kyoto, Japan at the UN convention "United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change" (UNFCCC). And its goal is to protect the world's climate and reduce the ongoing Global warming.
The countries displayed with green on the map, have all signed the treaty and accept to reduce emissions of the carbon dioxide and 5 other greenhouse gases. The global goal is to make a 5.2% reduction compared to the levels seen in the 1990's. The goal is to do this before 2008-2012.
Countries like USA and Australia have not agreed to the protocol, despite of USA is the country in the world that has the highest emission numbers of them all.
Denmark alone has agreed to make a reduction on 21% alone, while the sum of EU reductions is set at 7%. The main contributors to the reduction in Europe are Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
Problem with the Kyoto Protocol is the valid ness of it. 55% of the industrialized counties is said to sign it, with a collaborate emission of 55%, but with USA on the sideline the protocol has a problem.
Good thing states like California, have chosen to follow the Kyoto Protocol, despite their government wouldn't. Cheers Schwarzenegger. They know Globalwarming Awareness2007 is important!
President George Bush has lately announced USA will reduce their fossil fuel dependencies with 20% over the next 10 year. Not in the term to help save our environment, but to "protect" them from their dependence on foreign oil, as they are deeply dependant on oil from middle east countries.
Fri, 06 Apr 2007 22:38:48 +0200Environmental and GlobalWarming Awareness2007 News: Danish Enviromental news The Danish EPA environmental website gives approach to short data on international environmental problems relating to subsequent mood changes resulting from the increasing nursery gasoline consequence - essentially caused by anthropogenic emissions of CO2, methane, nitrous oxide etc. Problems related to environment difference are really extensive and really complicated. Therefore, the resolution to the problems can simply be establish in globalwarming awareness2007 cooperation and on the ground of global rule. The links below gives approach to the important global players, concepts and institutions presented by the UN Climate Convention (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol (IPCC) For Denmark the EU Burden Sharing Agreement is significant, providing the ground for the Danish enviroment policy. The objective is to attain a median 21 134521488ecrease of emissions of nursery gases in the years 2008-2012 compared to the 1990 degree. Read the EU Green Paper on nursery emissions trading. GLOBAL WARMING more political than scientific. A Danish scientist - Professor Bjarne Andresen - said the idea of a global temperature and global warming is more political than scientific. University of Copenhagen Professor Bjarne Andresen has analyzed the topic in collaboration with Canadian Professors Christopher Essex from the University of Western Ontario and Ross McKitrick of the University of Guelph. It is impossible to talk about a single temperature for something as complicated as the climate of Earth, said Andresen, an expert on thermodynamics. A temperature can be defined only for a homogeneous system. Furthermore, the climate is not governed by a single temperature. Rather, differences of temperatures drive the processes and create the storms, sea currents, thunder, etc. which make up the climate. It is generally assumed the Earths atmosphere and oceans have grown warmer during the recent 50 years because of an upward trend in the so-called global temperature, which is the result of complex calculations and averaging of air temperature measurements taken around the world. He says the currently used method of determining the global temperature -- and any conclusion drawn from it -- is more political than scientific. The argument is presented in the Journal of Non-Equilibrium Thermodynamics. United Press International 2007 PRESS RELEASE UNFCCC Executive Secretary calls for speedy and decisive international action on climate change (Paris, 2 February 2007) - Against the background of the most conclusive scientific evidence to date that the warming of the climate system is unequivocal and accelerating, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Yvo de Boer, today called for speedy and decisive international action to combat the phenomenon. According to a report released by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Friday, the world faces an average temperature rise of around 3°C this century, if greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise at their current pace and are allowed to double from their pre-industrial level. "The findings, which governments have agreed upon, leave no doubt as to the dangers mankind is facing and must be acted upon without delay. Any notion that we do not know enough to move decisively against climate change has been clearly dispelled," Mr. de Boer said. The new report says that warming during the last 100 years was 0.74 °C, with most of the warming occurring during the past 50 years. The warming per decade for the next 20 years is projected to be 0.2 °C per decade. "It is politically significant that all the governments have agreed to the conclusions of the scientists, making this assessment a solid foundation for sound deci[...]

As part of my globalwarming awareness2007 page, I would like to throw in some related videos. The pick I make on videos on this page, can and will change in belief and point of view as Global Warming is a subject just as broad as the meanings on the causes and effects.
If you have a great video, feel free to send me a link and I might put it on the page here. Just remember the topic: Globalwarming Awareness2007 :)

Mon, 23 Apr 2007 22:16:10 +0200GlobalWarming Awareness2007 - Information Heavy emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases is the cause of mankind, and we are also the only ones who can do something about reducing it. These emissions happen through our combustion of fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gases and globally increasing by the day. The repercussions for the emissions can be seen on the rise of sea levels around the coastal areas, it causes risk of drought and floods - threatening the biodiversity and the general health of mankind. Animal life will gravitate to colder locations, but those that cannot move, will over time die and become extinct. What can we do to stop this you might ask? Well, first of all we must change our dependency of the fossil fuels, and find some other renewable sources of energy. And there are many new sources on the market today, as wind energy, hydro energy, solar power generation, biomass & bio fuels energy, geothermal energy and so on. Biggest problem with the alternative energy sources is they do not give as much effect as oil does. Many of the alternatives have been tested to be a substitution for oil, but none give the equal effects as oil. Any other problems with using Oil as an energy resource? One of the problems we also face today, is the gigantic need for oil. It is estimated that the world needs around 26 billion barrels of oil every year to keep up with the energy consumption but at the same time it has become harder as ever to find good and rich oil reserves. You might have noticed an increase on your gas bills when you fill up the car the last couple of years, and this is a direct impact on this. It takes more and more power + money to get the oil we slowly discover. Recent numbers from the discoveries of new oil is around 7 billion barrels a year. That is far from what we use, so the reserves are rapidly getting dried out. We need GlobalWarming Awareness2007 Humans like you and me, have to set a focus on this, because transition to alternative fuels, is not something that is done over night. It takes a very long time, and will cost a lot of money. GlobalWarming Awareness2007 is needed. The best place to start if with ourselves, and try to think about the way we use the energy. From the usage of your car or even the purchase of plastic bags in the supermarket. 1997 in Kyoto, Japan a new protocol was made at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, assigning mandatory targets for the reduction in emissions of greenhouse gases. It is known as the Kyoto Protocol.[...]
