Wow ... great text. It describes perfectly our experience with most web searches involving images and visual clues. Shopping is not the only activity where images play an important part in the selection process: just think of videos, people (how about dating services), real estate, artworks, etc. After working with art collections for many years (we started with CD-ROMs ages ago when bandwidth was nonexistant) we developed some very intuitive interfaces combining image with text search. Our latest project is "oSkope visual search" that let's you visually browse Amazon, Ebaym YouTube and Flickr in a very intuitive way.

I have got to agree with Mitch - It's greyish and more importantly it adds to the click stream! You mention that visitors rarely go past the first 10 results - yet to get the product results at browsegoods.com you need to click 4-7 times. It's been my experience that almost no one browses shopping comparison engines looking for something. They typically have a product in mind and are looking for the best total price.

I worked on a comparison shopping project for about two years (can't say the name). I actually think this is fantastic. I am very interested in seeing how it progresses over the next year. As long as further development funds and marketing dollars are in place, I don't see why this couldn't grow. It's funny, but the more I think about it, the more I believe the project I used to work with would go perfect for a company like Dotted.Pair. Anyhow, great concept. Brian, If you feel up to it, send me an email and we will talk about the potential synergies. Best, Kilay

BrowseGoods may be a great concept but when I get to the site I get a grey sconce type screen over what appears to be some products. I see an instruction to click which I do and an image gets larger and loses resolution. The site needs some work or better instructions. And Brian - I haven't forgotten about you Regards, Mitch Rezman General Manager WindyCityParrot.com
