Beginning in 1986, the late trumpet and sax player and singer Floyd Standifer led his quartet there for 20 years. After his passing the rest of the group continued as The Legacy Quartet now led by drummer Clarence Acox.

Cuban-born, now American citizen Paquito D'Rivera was nominal leader and spokesman, playing alto sax and clarinet. She toured and sang with the Boston Pops, and was a soloist as well as an arranger and assistant director of the gospel choir on Gladys Knight's Grammy winning CD, "One Voice". The band was formed in 1990 by pianist Fred Hoadley (pictured above center playing tres guitar). He has visited Cuba four times to study with Cuban masters.
