Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.


Frequent travel to elastomeric vendors is anticipated.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


BSME with a minimum of 5 years of elastomeric manufacturing and process engineering experience, preferably with Vibration and/or Shock Isolation Products.  Injection molding and/or transfer Molding experience required.


3D/2D CAD experience helpful, preferably with SolidWorks.


Good written and verbal communication skills are required. 


Experience with the design and processing of rubber products is required.


Experience in the Aerospace industry and AS9100 Quality system requirements is desired.

This position is within the Energy Transfer quality control department. This position provides the front line of quality assurance activity. The principle objective is to observe and inspect the processes of production and verify that our various requirements are being met.


Essential Functions:



  • Position reports to and works closely with the Quality Control Manager. 

  • Read and understand production documentation and drawings and information provided in the shop traveler.

  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.

  • Performs internal audits, creates and maintains Internal Audit schedules, follows through audit action with action owners to ensure timely audit action completion, maintains audit records within the system, and generates audit reports for management reporting.

  • Perform visual in process inspections, perform NDE inspections, and report investigation results of quality inspections on production floor.

  • Operate advanced inspection equipment including a CMM.

  • Measure dimensions of components and finished product to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.

  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.

  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.

  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

  • Monitor radio calls from production floor when assistance is needed.


Requirements:



  • A High School diploma, with five (5) years of experience in the manufacturing quality assurance field.

  • Detect quality errors or problems and take corrective action.

  • Reading, comprehension and math skills required.

  • Demonstrate reliability and good work ethics, quality work performance, attention to detail is a must.

  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills and must be detail and process oriented.

  • Must identify and solve problems.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have proficient computer skills:  ERP Production software, MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
