U.S., Canada Advance to FIL World Cup Final

Kayla Treanor '16 and Michelle Tumolo '13 led Team USA's offense in its 19-8 victory against host England in the semifinals of the Federation of Lacrosse (FIL) Women's World Cup in Guildford, England on Thursday, July 20. The U.S. advances to the gold medal game where it will take on Team Canada, which needed overtime to defeat Australia, 8-6, in the other semifinal.

Trent Greene, Matt Johnson Join Orange Football Staff

Former Bowling Green football standouts Trent Greene and Matt Johnson have joined the Syracuse staff, head coach Dino Babers announced on Thursday, July 20. Greene and Johnson starred for Babers while he was the head coach of the Falcons and helped BGSU capture the 2015 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship.

Orange Duo Hits the Water in Bulgaria

PLOVDIV, Bulgaria – Rising seniors Noah Messner and Dominic Santora of the Syracuse men's rowing team hit the water for the first time on Thursday morning at the 2017 World Rowing U23 Championships. Messner, Santora, and the United States men's coxed eight crew finished in second place in its heat.

The Syracuse University chapter of Uplifting Athletes hosted its fifth annual "Lift for Life" event with friends, family and fans in the stands at Manley Field House on Wednesday, July 19. The student-athletes showcased their competitive nature in an effort to raise research funds and awareness for those affected by rare diseases.

Current and former Orange played critical roles in leading Team USA and Team Canada to quarterfinal victories at the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Cup in Guildford, England on Wednesday, July 19. The top-seeded U.S. will take on No. 4 seed and host England in the semifinals on Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern time, while No. 2 seed Canada faces Australia at 10 a.m.

Dungey Named to Davey O'Brien Award Watch List

Orange junior Eric Dungey was one of 30 quarterbacks named to the watch list for the for the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award on Wednesday, July 19. Presented by the Davey O'Brien Foundation, the award is the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award and recognizes candidates who exemplify O'Brien's character, teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership in both academics and athletics.

Rising senior Taylor Gait recorded a hat trick to lead Team Canada to an 8-6 win against host England on Tuesday, July 18 at the Federation of Lacrosse (FIL) Women's World Cup in Guildford, England. Kayla Treanor recorded seven points to lead Team USA to a 17-6 win against Wales on the final day of pool play in Group A.

Josh Allen Medically Disqualified

Redshirt junior defensive lineman Josh Allen has been medically disqualified from participation in football at Syracuse University after being diagnosed with a cardiac condition. Allen, a junior-college transfer, joined the Orange earlier this month in preparation for the start of preseason camp.
